Learning outcomes: The study of the discipline "Restoration Project (Part 3)" is to teach students methods and ways to solve problems related to the method of restoration of works of art from artificial stone in the interior, acquaint students with the theoretical foundations of restoration of works of art from stone and practical tasks , which involves the restoration of architectural details or stone sculptures that are part of the interior, acquainting the student with the methods of pre-project restoration research, mastering the skills of research work in the restoration of architectural details or stone sculptures in the interior. It is important to get acquainted with the history, theory and methods of application of various restoration materials used in the restoration of works of art from stone. In order to understand the sequence of processes and master the restoration skills, it is necessary to perform practical work, which includes performing probes and sections, sampling, clearing, strengthening and supplementing an architectural detail or a work of art made of stone. The course is designed to form a student-restorer as a specialist who will be able to organically apply in practice their own level of knowledge and creative skills in the restoration of works of art from stone.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisite: basics of design, modeling of architectural detail, basics of sculpture Co-requisite: conceptual and terminological apparatus, methodology.
Summary of the subject: The discipline "Restoration Project" is based on the study of the following educational blocks - acquaintance with research objects, identification of material and object, visual scientific and technological examination of a work of art made of stone, determining the degree of preservation and contamination, material, style. Elaboration of survey algorithm. Sampling for color studies, salinization, biological damage. Execution of sections. Execution of measurements on the basis of which the cartogram of sampling and cartogram of losses with indication of all available damages, and also the project of restoration with reconstruction of missing parts of a work of art is carried out. Photo-fixation is a mandatory part of restoration documentation. Photofixation is performed at all stages of restoration work. The possibility of using synthetic polymers, pigments, biocides and antiseptics used in restoration for restoration is being studied. The study of artificial masses used in the restoration of works of art from stone. The study of the discipline is the method of sequential teaching of material in the form of thematic blocks.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (30%): oral examination, work in pairs. - Final control (70%): written and oral control, defense of practical work.
