Learning outcomes: • To understand: features of human visual perception of volume and space; the role of the application of artistic techniques and tools in the process of depicting architectural space; the role of the basics of composition, rules of perspective and theory of lighting in a realistic and convincing depiction of architectural space • To know: the main categories, methods, rules of artistic transmission of reality; basic principles of constructive construction, proportions, perspectives, light and shade, textures, compositions, etc .; regularities of construction of a three-dimensional image on a plane; • Be able to: translate visual three-dimensional impression into a planar image; consciously see the three-dimensional form, logically analyze it and competently reproduce it on a two-dimensional plane; by external signs to see the constructive and geometric basis of the form, its architectonics; keep a drawing in the methodological sequence - from general, whole to specific; on the basis of compositional laws, rules of perspective, theory of lighting, be able to realistically and convincingly depict reality, skillfully interpreting the features of the pictorial object, its aesthetic essence; develop the ability to cover the essentials in sketches and convey it in concise means; have the skills to generalize and stylize natural and architectural forms; be able to create from memory and imagination artistically expressive graphic images of spatial and architectural forms; meaningfully and analytically distinguish the main and secondary in the depicted objects; understand the tectonic and rhythmic characteristics of architecture.

Summary of the subject: The discipline consists of laboratory classes during which students consistently acquire theoretical knowledge and gain practical skills in art disciplines. The second part includes mastering the basics of academic drawing, the basics of working with color and plastic materials. Drawing: short sketches of the human skull and anatomical head; drawing of a plaster cast of the head. Painting: still life (warm or cold scale); cascading still life (mixed range) of household items with architectural detail (bracket, capital, mask); picturesque sketches of the interior, exterior of the historic building. Sculpture: a copy of a complex plastic and decorative architectural ornament; execution of the relief of the architectural portal of the historic building.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control - performance and protection of laboratory tasks, final control - on the results of laboratory tasks (100%).
