Summary of the subject: The course is an introduction to architectural design, and continues to teach students a number of basic practical knowledge of the architecture of buildings and structures. Given that the technical foundations of architectural and construction work are taught in other, parallel courses, this course focuses on the study of compositional means of architecture: volume and space, the main architectural elements of buildings and their forms, tectonic structure, proportions, scale, harmony techniques. These means and methods of composition are considered in accordance with the functional purpose of buildings, their social and artistic significance, construction conditions, construction equipment and economy. The ultimate goal of the subject "Fundamentals of Architectural Design" is the formation of future specialists' knowledge and skills of sketching and projects, which apply and take into account the rules of composition, mastering a set of techniques and tools for three-dimensional graphic modeling needed to implement design ideas work on the project. In the course "Fundamentals of Architectural Design" attention is paid mainly to the structural and compositional side of architectural objects and the mastery of the basic means of expression of architectural design. The main method of teaching design is the method of performing practical design work. In the course "Fundamentals of Architectural Design" such works are works on architectural graphics, composition and basics of design. The most important task of these first works is the development of future architects three-dimensional representation, which allows you to compose the architectural form of the building and understand the drawings. The classes develop students' compositional abilities, spatial thinking, arbitrary operation of creative tasks, the ability to design. The program of the discipline provides for the implementation of practical tasks aimed at studying and improving skills in architectural graphics, composition and design: collecting material on the project, current graphic works - both classroom (closures) and independent, creating a project of recreational house with a model.
Assessment methods and criteria: Ongoing monitoring: assessment of the stages of a series of graphic works, verification of the course project. Final monitoring: differentiated test.

Learning outcomes: The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics of designing the interior and exterior of the country house, developing practical skills of sketching and drawing. To teach students to comprehensively design a residential building for recreation in a natural landscape, taking into account stylistic, functional and aesthetic requirements.
Required prior and related subjects: 1. History of architecture; 2. Architectural Graphics and Composition.
Summary of the subject: The country house project is the first architectural project of a student, where he acquires the ability to independently design and comprehensively approach the solution of architectural problems, analyze and take into account the total amount of initial data (site conditions, planning restrictions, current design rules, stylistic and aesthetic requirements). and learns to find architectural and planning solutions that would provide the best way for the facility to function. In this project the student gets acquainted with the features of housing and recreational functions and means to the functional and spatial organization of the building and its surroundings. In the design process, the student must feel the connection between the three-dimensional structure of the house and the external environment based on the study of family life processes.
Assessment methods and criteria: Differentiated credit. Graphic works - 100 p.

LO5 Ability to apply artistic and compositional principles in architectural and urban design. LO6 Ability to identify, analyze and assess the needs and requirements of customers and partners, to find effective joint solutions for architectural and urban projects.
Required prior and related subjects: Previous academic disciplines (prerequisites) - Fundamentals of architectural design, part 1 Subsequent disciplines (co-requisites) - Architectural graphics and composition, part 2
Summary of the subject: The discipline is designed to train specialists in the basic field of "Architecture and Urban Planning". The discipline in a logical and consistent way outlines the basic methods and sequence of pre-project analysis, the process of designing the simplest residential object - a country house. During the study of the discipline the main emphasis is on mastering the independent implementation of the main design processes and their stages - analysis and collection of material, development of sketches, sketches and project drawings, as well as the layout. During the teaching of the discipline the principles of three-dimensional solution of the architectural object - country house and adjacent territory are considered, taking into account the functional features, environmental conditions, climatic factors. In practice, students master the specifics of the organization of architectural space depending on the functional orientation of the design object (garden house, fisherman's house, hunter, tourist shelter, family house by the lake or sea, sauna), make appropriate site planning. The project task involves the development of sketch options and making the optimal compositional decision; modeling and depiction of architectural structures in different spatial angles and scales; clear presentation of the project solution. Considerable attention is paid to acquaintance with world tendencies of designing of country houses. The project task allows to master in practice the whole complex of design procedures and serves as a good basis for future courses of educational architectural design.
Assessment methods and criteria: The assessment is based on conducting surveys, testing knowledge and work performed during classes, conducting a test according to the schedule and checking the work. During the study, the closure of examinations is provided, for which the student can receive a maximum of 30 points. At the end of the semester there is a defense and presentation of practical work, for which the student can receive 70 points.

Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the discipline the student must know the basic concepts and terms related to architectural design; theoretical bases and principles of designing residential and public buildings; basic methods of architectural design; basic ways of presenting and presenting an architectural project. Be able to choose the right rational architectural solutions, clearly and professionally apply and use the knowledge acquired in lectures and laboratory classes in educational design, and later in real architectural design.
Required prior and related subjects: 1. Fundamentals of architectural design, part 1 2. Architectural graphics and composition, part 2
Summary of the subject: The lecture course includes 14 topics for 28 academic hours. The course is designed for first-year students who from the second semester master the process of architectural design of the object in a real environment. When working on the first educational project, students should know the basics of architectural design of buildings and structures and the methods they will use in their creative activities. The study of the basics of architectural design begins with the interpretation of terms and basic concepts related to architectural design, methods of architectural design and understanding of the process and methods of architectural design. The only process of architectural activity due to the specifics of the tasks is divided into analysis - the knowledge of individual parts of the whole and the synthesis of knowledge gained in the creative process of architectural design. Architectural design, both in the learning process and in the practical activities of the architect, combines individual disciplines, extending its influence to various fields of knowledge. The purpose of teaching the discipline is to teach first-year students the basics of design and design methods: from traditional to modern, analyze and synthesize knowledge with their further application in the design of various types of buildings and structures, think systematically in solving practical problems in architectural design.
Assessment methods and criteria: Laboratory works, examination control (test)
