Мета вивчення дисципліни: Be able to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills and abilities to develop a project for the modernization of a significant urban area, outline its development by means of urban planning and landscape architecture based on identified problems of the territory's functioning. The project is carried out: Option 1: in cooperation with the partners of the department of urban planning of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences - city, district and village councils; Option 2: based on announced architectural competitions that coincide with the design theme. Groups of 3-4 students are created for complex development of projects.
Завдання: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must demonstrate the results of his studies and be able to: - solve design and planning tasks, solve problems in the field of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture; - produce new ideas, show creativity and system thinking; ability to work independently and in a team; the ability to motivate people and move towards common goals; the ability to apply theories in the field of planning and administration; - professionally represent the project - report on the essence of the project and be its opponent, write a review, clarify individual provisions of the project at public hearings of various levels and town planning councils; - apply knowledge of urban planning theory when performing practical tasks in architectural and urban planning. The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: general: - Ability to communicate in a foreign language. - Ability to communicate with representatives of other professional groups of different levels (with experts from other fields of knowledge/types of economic activity). professional: - Ability to integrate knowledge and solve complex problems of architecture and urban planning in broad or multidisciplinary contexts. - the ability to analyze, develop and implement architectural and urban planning solutions taking into account socio-demographic, national-ethnic, natural-climatic, engineering-technical factors and sanitary-hygienic, safety, energy-saving, ecological, technical-economic requirements; - the ability to develop and implement projects in the field of architecture and urban planning; - the ability to project modeling and research of conceptual, natural and computer models of objects of architecture and urban planning. professional competence of specialization: - application of the knowledge of a comprehensive study of an architectural and urban planning object in architectural and urban planning and conducting scientific and research activities; -A comprehensive study of an architectural, town-planning and landscape object for the application of the obtained results in the adoption project decision;
Learning outcomes: - Carry out pre-project analysis architectural and urban planning objects and territories. - To understand and apply in practical activities the theoretical and practical principles of designing innovative urban planning objects, residential, public, and industrial buildings, and structures, reconstruction and restoration of architectural objects. methods of achieving a rational architectural and planning, volume-spatial, constructive solution, ensuring socio-economic efficiency, environmental friendliness, and energy efficiency; compare alternatives, consider limitations, assess possible side effects and risks; - Ensure harmonization of architectural objects and subject environment, in particular with the application principles and methods of architectural environment design theory. - Analyze international and domestic experience in designing architectural objects and urban planning. Practical training information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, problem statement method, independent work - reproductive method, research method Current control - performance of graphic tasks. Semester control - performance of control work. To design objects of architecture and urban planning. -Practical classes: information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, method of problem presentation, independent work: reproductive method, research method) Current control - performance of graphic tasks. Semester control - performance of control work -Ability to demonstrate understanding of basic environmental principles of labor protection and life safety and their application. -Practical classes: information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, method of problem presentation, independent work: reproductive method, research method) Current control - performance of graphic tasks. Semester control - performance of control work
Required prior and related subjects: 1. Bachelor qualification work 2. Modern architectural theories and doctrines 3. Basics of urban planning 4. Urban planning analysis 5. Urban planning legislation 6. Comprehensive study of the architectural and urban construction object
Summary of the subject: The project involves students learning the methodology of analyzing significant territorial objects and identifying, based on this analysis, problems and conflicts of a functional, spatial, and compositional nature. Familiarization of students with the specifics of the impact of various factors (historical, cultural, socio-economic, engineering, etc.) on the design and modernization of the city.
Опис: Familiarization stage (the entire academic group works together) 1. Acquaintance with course project tasks. A theoretical course on the modernization of cities based on the example of implemented projects in major cities. Selection of the design object (Lviv or another significant city) 2. Access to the design territory. Meeting with representatives of local self-government, and familiarization with design issues. 3. Seminar 1. Setting the goal of the project and finding the graphic concept of the project. Implementation of the logo of the theme of the project "Modernization of the city". Formation of working groups – 4-5 units – within one academic group. Stage of physical examinations. 4 Issuance of a task for field surveys. The method of drawing up the Cognitive Map and the Map of Features of the Territory. 5. Concept stage (working groups of 3-4 students) 6. based on real-world studies and the results of studying analogs in the literature and implemented and conceptual projects, the concept of urban development of a given territory is formed, which would correspond to the concept of balanced development. Namely: the preservation of natural elements in the structure of the city, complex historical forms of planning, ensuring social protection of the population, and taking into account the economic feasibility of the project proposal. Workshop 2: Defense of the concept of a general modernization of the territory. Selection of fragments for individual design. 7. Project stage (performed by students in the form of individual projects) Development of the concept of an architectural and planning solution for the development and modernization of a fragment of a given district of the city. The basis of the project decision should be the substantiated role of the site in the structure of the city, its features of functional use, and the definition of the object or function that dominates it. 8. Final clause. Elaboration of the concept of architectural and urban planning. Development of a proposal for functional, planning, and compositional organization of the territory. The functional structure, in comparison with the existing one, is supplemented with functions necessary for the given territory. When designing, due attention should be paid to the compositional and spatial organization of the city, the foundations of which are laid in the general plan. It is necessary to see the architectural and spatial construction of the studied territory as a single whole with the city, to determine the main and secondary compositional axes and nodes. In the work, plots of new residential construction with a reasonable number of floors are determined; the criteria for the operation of blocks preserved, reconstructed, and designated for compaction are prescribed. A proposal is being developed for the preservation, reconstruction, and planning of landscape and recreational facilities: parks, gardens, squares, city gardens, etc. Design decisions are made based on calculations of the necessary service infrastructure: institutions and enterprises of service, trade; educational institutions, sports facilities, health care facilities; motor vehicle storage facilities, etc., according to the normative data of DBN B.2.2-12:2019 Planning and development of territories. 9. Seminar 3. Concept-clause. Open discussion. Evaluation of the project proposal. 2 1 The final stage is the development of a detailed plan of a fragment of the territory as a solution to a specific problem of the given territory (individual task) 10. Implementation of a detailed plan of a separate node in the territory, which was determined as the most problematic 11 Workshop 4 – protection of projects.
Assessment methods and criteria: Seminars, reviews of the progress of work, exhibitions with oral defense of certain stages of the project. Phased clauses.
