Мета вивчення дисципліни: Apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to implement a project to modernize a large urban area and identify problems and outline its development as means of urban planning and landscape architecture. The theme of the project - "New urban density" is carried out in the form of a workshop in cooperation with the partners of the Department of Urban Planning of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences - other educational institutions or local self-government bodies.

Required prior and related subjects: Previous: - Modern concepts and innovations in architecture and urban planning -Theory of urban planning (comprehensive study) Accompanying: -Urban conflict studies and participation (KP) - City communications
Summary of the subject: The topic of the course project - "New urban density" involves the students' assimilation of the methodology of analyzing degraded and poorly invested parts of the city and identifying the possibilities of densification of buildings in order to solve the primary problems of cities. The project has an urban planning direction, in which the tasks of the functional load of the territory and the task of location of objects are solved - the so-called "dice game" The practice of modern construction is based on the re-development of the territory, accordingly, cities have worked out city development strategies for a significant period (20, 30 or 50 years), in which the spaces of urban transformation are defined. As the practice of implemented strategies shows, increasing the density of buildings allows to raise the rank of the functions offered on the territory and to leave green areas and public spaces with a high intensity of use undeveloped in the urban structure Problem areas are proposed for design, the choice of which is justified by students. Only assignments and explanations, discussion of project proposals and their defense take place in the classrooms. All chamber works on schemes and drawings are performed by students independently. Graphic processing of the project is performed in programs of your choice, and is made out in electronic versions. The course project includes graphic and textual parts.
Опис: Familiarization stage 1. Familiarization with course project tasks. A theoretical excursion on urban densification using the example of implemented projects in major cities. Representation of the design object 2. Excursion to the facility. Design issues. Issuance of a task for field surveys The stage of substantiating the problems of the chosen topic 3. Discussion of cartographic analysis and "Maps of features of the territory", SWOT analysis. 4. A concept-hypothesis of urban development of the selected territory is formed on the basis of field studies and preliminary familiarization with literature and other projects. The stage of research of theoretical and practical experience 5. Conducting an analysis of the problem, the level of its research in the scientific literature (Theoretical foundations of solving the topic). It is necessary to identify leading theoreticians and practitioners in the chosen topic, to use their experience, to find out what is well researched, and what needs additional elaboration (actual relevance of the topic). 6. Formulation of methodology and research of foreign and Ukrainian practical experience 7. Formulation of conclusions, design of collected material and list of sources using reference managers The stage of highlighting the local features of the design object 8. Analysis of the territory (object) of the design from the urban planning point of view and in the context of related specialties (sociology, economics, ecology, etc.) with the highlighting of local features 9. Architectural and urban planning analysis of the design object Concept development stage 10. Formulation of the universal "concept models" (without reference to a specific territory) 11. Development of the project concept in the selected territory, taking into account the wider urban planning context 12. Elaboration of the general plan of a fragment of the territory to solve the selected problem 13. Settlement. Protection of term paper
Assessment methods and criteria: Each stage of work is evaluated separately. Semester grade is the sum of all grades of tasks completed during the semester. The student prepares a sheet of 2x2 m (4 sq.m.) from completed graphic tasks and the text part of the work (explanatory note, 50 pages). 2 files - a sheet of drawings in accordance with the requirements in the * format are uploaded to the VNS for the assessment. pdf (compressed to 5 mb size), as well as an explanatory note in *.doc or *.pdf format (compressed to 5 mb size). In the last lesson, the course work is defended.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Graphic work 1 10 Graphic work 2 10 Graphic work 3 10 Graphic work 4 10 Graphic work 5 10 Graphic work 6 20 Explanatory note 30 A total of 100 points
