Summary of the subject: In the process of studying the discipline "Lighting Design in Architecture", students of the second level of higher education - Master of Architecture and Urban Planning - acquire the necessary knowledge about the importance and place of lighting design in the formation of a harmonious urban environment, learn and master the most important principles, methods and means of lighting design and color in the design of architecture of individual objects and the urban environment in general. During practical classes, master's students develop the ability to organize the lighting environment of individual architectural objects in the city structure, their complexes, and large architectural and landscape formations. The content of the discipline is developed on the basis of the relevant requirements for the preparation of masters of architecture and urban planning to perform innovative methods of lighting design, for teaching in the specialty, for the development of the architectural part of complex projects for various purposes, for work in the field of management at the level of districts and cities. Considerable attention is paid to the conceptual apparatus of lighting design of architectural objects, their complexes and elements of urban development. The discipline reveals the basic principles, methods, ways and means of organizing the light environment of architecture, light and color design of the urban environment, provides a personal vision and understanding of the theoretical and methodological foundations of architecture and urbanism that determine independent design activities.
