Learning outcomes: The learning outcomes of this discipline detail the following program learning outcomes: - knowledge of professionally oriented disciplines of the specialty 191 Architecture and Urban Planning; - be able to collect and process initial pre-project information on the basis of field surveys of the environment and design objects, if necessary - archival and iconographic materials, interviewing potential consumers of project products, studying current domestic and foreign experience on selected architecture; ability to select and analyze literary sources; - be able to compile descriptions of pre-project research, prepare a presentation of projects, project reports, including the use of modern office information technology, text and graphic editors, print media.

Summary of the subject: The discipline "Methods of scientific research and practical methods in the restoration of architectural objects" consists of 15 lectures and aims to consider the main issues of formation and development of cities and their landscape component from their inception to the present day. The subject reveals the general concepts and types of research and their essence, general concepts of research methods and their classification, methods used at the theoretical and empirical levels and determines their essence. The peculiarities of the main methodological approaches of scientific research are summarized and characterized: structural-systemic, synergetic and interdisciplinary, the analysis of problems and synthesis of scientific-technical and practical decisions in architecture is presented. , methods of control questions, brainstorming, morphological analysis, generalized heuristic method and other methods of finding technical solutions, various methods of research of architectural monuments are substantiated;
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment of students' knowledge is based on the results of final testing.
