Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: 4. Definition of essential features of the basic social and economic systems and directions of their evolution, a role of political economy in working out of ways of formation of socially-oriented economic system of a society. Ability to collect and process socio-economic information, make generalized conclusions on a scientific basis. Competencies that must be mastered by the student: general: 1. Ability to form a worldview on the development of human existence, society and nature, spiritual culture. 2. Ability to consider social phenomena in development and specific historical conditions. 6. Ability to carry out communication activities. 7. Ability to work both independently and in a team. 10. Ability to take an active position in life and develop leadership qualities. 12. Ability to learn. 13. Ability to form new ideas (creativity). professional: 17. Ability to understand the current regulatory system in Ukraine in the context of professional activities.

Summary of the subject: Introduction to sociology. History of formation and development of sociology. Methodology and methods of empirical sociological research. Society as a whole system, its social structure. Personality in the system of social relations. Sociology of conflict. Sociology of culture. The family as a social institution. Sociology of politics. Sociology of religion. Economic sociology. Sociology of labor and management.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control (testing, independent work, essay) - 50 points; - Final control - 50 points
