Learning outcomes: • knowledge of methods of synthesis and properties of polymers that may be carriers of drug substances and nanoparticles of chemically active surface; • the ability to reasonably choose a method to solve a particular problem in the development of biomedical purpose vehicle using of polymers and nanostructures; qualified to use the equipment and devices and accurately reproduce the description of the methodology, to assess the precision and accuracy of the results.
Required prior and related subjects: prerequisites: General biotechnology, Methods of organic synthesis co-requisites: Theoretical basics of biotechnology and enzymology, Bioengineering (cellular, genetic).
Summary of the subject: High molecular compounds and polymers, their importance in biotechnology and pharmacy, methods of preparation. Biological and physiological activity of polymers. Polymers as excipients and drugs.
