Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the course is to provide students with a set of knowledge necessary to obtain the European Foundation Certificate in Banking (EFCB), in particular, regarding the economic and financial structure of the European Union, the specifics of banking regulation in the EU, the key risks of banks' activities on the European market, and the principles of risk - management, internal audit, and control.
Завдання: GK2. Ability to communicate in a foreign language. GK8. Ability to work in an international context. SK6. Ability to apply interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex tasks and problems in the field of finance, banking, and insurance. SKS-3. The ability to transform the skills and abilities of scientific research into the management of strategic development of the financial market and its participants, improvement of banking state regulation, internal audit and controlling, management of banking risks, design of banking products and services, taking into account the peculiarities of using the European banker's certificate.
Learning outcomes: PLO 01. To use the fundamental laws of the development of finance, banking, and insurance in combination with research and management tools to carry out professional and scientific activities. PLO 03. Carry out adaptation and modification of existing scientific approaches and methods to specific situations of professional activity PLO 05. Communicate freely in a foreign language orally and in writing on professional and scientific issues, and present and discuss research results. PLO 06. It is accessible and reasoned to present the results of research orally and in writing, to participate in professional discussions. PLO 08. Be able to apply and manage innovative approaches in the field of finance, banking, and insurance PLO 09. Apply management skills in finance, banking, and insurance. PLO 15. To present the results of one's own research, in particular, by preparing scientific publications and speaking at scientific events. PLO 23. Develop bank strategies on financial markets, design banking products and services, and manage banking risks taking into account the requirements of the European banker's certificate. KN 2. Critical understanding of basic theories, principles, methods, and concepts in education and professional activity. AB 1. Solving complex, unpredictable tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or training involves collecting and interpreting information (data), selecting methods and tools, and using innovative approaches. Summary of the subject: The course is aimed at forming students' system of knowledge about: the financial infrastructure of the European Union; specifics of banks' activities on the market and the products (services) they offer to their clients; requirements for banking ethics, which are established for banking institutions; the main risks of banks' activities and approaches to their management; responsibility of employees of financial institutions, organization of internal audit and control.

Market characteristics of banking products and services in the EU. Building relationships between banks and clients. Banking ethics. Risk management in EU banks. Anti-money laundering. Assessment methods and criteria: current control (the methods of oral control, practical cases, frontal questioning, test questionnaire, written control, and self-control
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control - 100% (100 points)
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: In the process of study, the applicant must demonstrate active educational activity during the semester and, based on the results of the current control, score from 50 to 100 points. Mandatory types of current control work include: 1. Two written works performed at the VLE, which are evaluated at a maximum of 20 points each. 2. Work in seminar classes, participation in the discussion of cases, and reports are estimated at a maximum of 20 points. 3. Performance of the control work is estimated at a maximum of 20 points. 4. Execution of an individual task according to a separate option. The individual task in the discipline is performed by the student preparing a review of a scientific publication on the functioning of the banking sector, with priority given to English-language publications. The individual task is assessed at 20 points, of which 14 points are for the content and design of the task, and a maximum of 6 points for the defense.
