Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of the following competencies:
General competences:
ZK5 - Ability to work in an international context.
ZK6. Ability to generate new ideas (creativity).
ZK7. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations.
ZK8. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis
ZK9. Ability to use information and communication technologies.
ZK11. Ability to communicate in a foreign language.

ZK14. Ability for interpersonal interaction, respect for diversity and multiculturalism
ZK15. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
Professional competences:
• linguistic, which is the level of mastery of language norms and the ability to demonstrate speaking skills;
• sociolinguistic, which involves the ability of foreign language learners to produce and recognize a speech style in accordance with a specific communicative situation;
• pragmatic, which determines the speaker's possession of linguistic and paralinguistic knowledge and his ability to use this knowledge to influence the interlocutor in the process of foreign language communication
Learning outcomes: By the end of the module learners are expected to be able to:
- make and give structured presentations of professional content using appropriate linguistic and non-linguistic means of communication;
- demonstrate the ability to arrange information on common study and job/ specialism-related topics in a logical and coherent way, demonstrate a sufficient appropriate vocabulary range related to the topic of presentation;
- interpret graphical information using appropriate linguistic means;
- select and sort out relevant information by scanning and skimming through education- and employment-related web-sites;
- demonstrate a working understanding of the purpose, structure, general and detailed content and requirements of education- and employment-related documentation;
- write education- and employment-related papers (a resume, a cover/motivation letter) with a sufficient degree of grammatical accuracy and appropriate vocabulary range; revise, edit and proofread them;
- demonstrate a working understanding of existing rules and standard procedures while participating as an applicant in an academic/job interview;
- perform effectively during the job interview: respond to the interviewers’ questions with an ample degree of precision, appropriacy and a sufficient range of vocabulary; ask related to the situation open-ended questions; use suitably verbal (lexis and grammar) and non-verbal (melody, pauses, gestures, postures, dress code, cosmetics etc.) means of communication.
Required prior and related subjects: The level of knowledge A2-B1, Ukrainian language for professional purposes.
Summary of the subject: The program of the study discipline "Foreign language for specific purposes, parts 1, 2" is concluded for students of the Institute of Economics and Management, who study in the specialties "Management", "International Economic Relations", "Accounting and Taxation", "Marketing", "Economics ", "Finance, banking and insurance" and in a language at the level that corresponds to A2 - B1 according to CEI (General European recommendations for learning and teaching modern languages).
As a result of successful study under the program of this course, the level of language proficiency is expected to increase to B1+, which is transitional between the borderline and advanced levels of an independent language user.
The course has a practical orientation, providing students with opportunities to acquire general professional communicative competence in using the English language. Education is carried out by integrating speaking skills and language knowledge within a familiar general thematic and situational context in accordance with a certain academic and professional field of activity of students. Self-education is considered an integral part of this educational course, and special attention in the program is paid to independent work of students.

Searching for and Processing Information
Developing skimming and scanning skills: extracting main and detailed information. Distinguishing between factual/ non-factual, important/ less important. Listening for main and detailed infrmation.
Assessment methods and criteria: Oral and written surveys, discussion of problematic issues, analysis of reports, presentations, essays, dialogical speech, monologic speech, home reading.

-Practical classes (Teaching methods: information-receptive method, reproductive method, communicative approach, situational method, audio-lingual method, grammar-translation method).
-Independent work - (reproductive method, research method)

Listening – Full understanding of audio materials; the student demonstrates independence and the ability to adequately perceive information and the ability to reproduce, translate, remember this material, and complete accompanying oral or written tasks.
Reading - the student demonstrates knowledge of a significant part of the material read; facts are used correctly, terminological correctness is present, small inaccuracies are possible; the student demonstrates understanding of the text, independent and critical thinking, ability to analyze, argue his position, logically and consistently present the material. The student understands and can explain in a foreign language the meaning of most words in the text, knows their translation, can use an active dictionary when discussing the information read.
Speech - the student demonstrates the ability to express himself on the chosen topic, using appropriate lexical and grammatical constructions, communicate freely and prove his point of view using linguistic means, engage in thematic discussions.
Writing - the student has a sufficient level of knowledge of grammar and has a sufficient lexical base to correctly express his opinion in writing. Logic, brevity, correctness of the presentation are important in accordance with the requirements for writing one or another type of written work (essay, letter, extended abstract, etc.).
** Evaluation criteria for oral speech (presentation)
The presentation is prepared in accordance with the proposed topic and according to the plan developed independently by the student, in compliance with the technical requirements for presentation design. Demonstrates deep and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the material, information is presented clearly, comprehensively using an analytical approach and additional factual and conceptual material to the chosen topic;
The report is complete, comprehensive, with a comprehensive coverage of the issues proposed in the plan, comprehensive, clear, logical, well-argued, with a consistent presentation of the content, one's own vision of solving the problem.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions.

Final control: exam 55 (written component 40, oral component 15).
