Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the course project is for the students to perform the specified tasks on the basis of the practical skills acquired in the course of training regarding the analysis of the activities of financial institutions (banks and non-banking financial institutions).
Завдання: GK01. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis, and synthesis. GK02. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. GK05. Skills in using information and communication technologies. GK06. Ability to conduct research at an appropriate level GK08. Ability to search, process, and analyze information from various sources. GK12 Ability to work autonomously. SK03. Ability to diagnose the state of financial systems (state finances, including budget and tax systems, finances of economic entities, household finances, financial markets, banking system, and insurance). SK04. Ability to apply economic and mathematical methods and models to solve financial problems. SK10. Ability to determine, justify and take responsibility for professional decisions. SK14. The ability to analyze the forms and methods of planning state and local budgets, to evaluate the effectiveness of state financial policy, directions of implementation of the budget process, and inter-budgetary relations.
Learning outcomes: PR05. Possess a methodical toolkit for diagnosing the state of financial systems (state finances, including budget and tax systems, finances of economic entities, household finances, financial markets, banking system and insurance). PR06. Apply appropriate economic and mathematical methods and models for solving financial problems. PR09. Form and analyze financial statements and correctly interpret the received information. PR16. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems and interpret the results meaningfully. PR19. Demonstrate independent work skills, flexible thinking, and openness to new knowledge.

Summary of the subject: As a result of the high-quality implementation of the project, the student must be able to perform an analysis of the financial condition of financial institutions from the standpoint of the traditionality of events, rates of change, forecasting; analyze assets, capital, liabilities, income, expenses, profit, indicators of financial condition; identify possible ways to improve the financial condition of the financial intermediary.

Assessment methods and criteria: Methods of monitoring the knowledge and skills of the student in the study of the discipline (implementation of the course project) include an evaluation: the quality of processing of literary sources and the completeness of the disclosure of the theoretical part according to the task variant, the correctness of the application of methods for assessing the financial stability of the credit institution, as well as the effectiveness of the proposed measures to ensure financial stability, the validity of conclusions based on the results of research during the course project, the completeness of answers and the ability to present the results of research with arguments during the defense of the course project, the quality, and timeliness of the work design.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: It is regulated by the Regulations of the Lviv Polytechnic National University: Regulations on the Organization and Conduct of Current and Semester Monitoring of Students' Study Results (SVO LP 03.09) and Regulations on Rating Assessment of Students' Achievements (SVO LP 03.10). 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
