Summary of the subject: Course «Financial Management» is based on the fundamental concepts and results of modern theoretical and applied research in the field of financial management, namely the importance of financial management, legal and tax environment of financial management, evaluation of financial statement of the company, determining the value of debt securities risk planning and profitability of enterprises, working capital management, cash management and liquid securities, short-term financing, analysis of efficiency of investment companies.
Опис: Theoretical foundations and applied aspects of financial management. The legal and tax environment of financial management. Evaluation of financial statement of the company. Methodology of KPI. Determining the value of debt securities risk planning and profitability of enterprises. Capital components and evaluation Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). The CAPM Approach. Short-term financing. Capital budgeting decision rules and analysis of efficiency of investment companies.
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment of the student's knowledge is carried out in the following areas: the presence of specific skills, their depth, stability and flexibility; the degree of mastery of the main provisions of the discipline and their creative application when solving situational problems and cases.
Semester control is conducted in the form of an exam. Evaluation methods: selective oral survey; preparation of presentations, reports; answers for the admission and defense of laboratory work, assessment of activity, submitted proposals, original decisions, clarifications and definitions, etc.).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (30%):
Performing laboratory work (20);
Solving problems, situational exercises, cases (5);
Participation in the discussion on current financial news (5).
Final control (70%): exam (written component ((50%)) and discussion(20%)).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: The final semester grade on a 100-point scale is converted into a state grade in accordance with the system adopted at the University:
• 88-100 points – "excellent"
• 71-87 points - "good"
• 50-70 points – "satisfactory"
• 0-49 points – "not satisfactory".
The grade "excellent" (88-100 points) is awarded for complete, systematized knowledge. The student must correctly answer the assigned tasks and solve the practical tasks, minor mechanical errors are allowed that do not significantly distort the overall result of the practical tasks.
• The grade "good" (71-87 points) assumes that, in general, having mastered the material, the student answers most of the tasks correctly and makes minor inaccuracies and individual errors when solving practical problems.
• A grade of "satisfactory" (50-70 points) is assigned to a student who has significant deficiencies in solving the assigned tasks and has gaps in practical knowledge, but tried to solve problems where he could have made mistakes.
• The grade "unsatisfactory" (less than 50 points) is given to a student who does not understand the essence of the questions, does not know the basic concepts of the subject and did not answer them correctly.
