Мета вивчення дисципліни: To provide specialized conceptual knowledge and practical abilities and skills for solving complex professional tasks and problems in specialty 193 "Geodesy and land management" of the educational program "Photogrammetry and remote sensing" with an emphasis on critical thinking, innovative activities and research work. To prepare students for professional activities and the possibility of further education to obtain a higher qualification level.
Завдання: 1. Ability to write and speak in Ukrainian and foreign languages. 2. The ability to learn to perceive the acquired knowledge in the field of geodesy, photogrammetry, land management, cartography and geoinformatics and to integrate it with the existing ones. 3. Ability to plan and manage time. 4. The ability to produce new ideas, to show creativity and the ability to system thinking. 5. Ability to search and critically analyze information from various sources. 6. Have research skills. 7. Knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and methods necessary for understanding the principles of operation and functional purpose of modern geodetic, photogrammetric instruments and navigation systems and their equipment. 8. Knowledge of specialized software and GIS systems and basic programming skills to solve applied professional problems. 9. Ability to apply and integrate knowledge and understanding of disciplines of related engineering fields. 10. Ability to apply professional knowledge and practical skills to solve typical problems of the specialty, as well as to choose technical means for their implementation. 11. Ability to identify, classify and describe digital models by using analytical and modeling methods. 12. The ability to investigate a problem and identify limitations, including those caused by issues of sustainable development and environmental impact.
Learning outcomes: 1. Plan and complete scientific research, use the resulting competencies to prepare and execute a research plan according to the defined time frames. 2. Formulate and improve an important research problem, collect necessary information for its solution and formulate conclusions that can be defended in a scientific context. 3. Plan and complete coursework and master's work, use the resulting competencies to prepare and implement a research plan. 4. Use information resources in a scientific way, using high standards of textual analysis. 5. Search and analysis of information from various sources and conducting research work. 6. Carry out appropriate experimental research using research skills on a professional topic. 7. Combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop an activity strategy to solve the tasks of the specialty (specialization), taking into account universal human values, public, state and industrial interests. 8. Evaluate the obtained results and justify the decisions made. 9. Critically evaluate the results of scientific and applied activities. 10. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and one of the foreign languages (English, German, French, Polish). 11. The ability to be purposeful and persistent, to study throughout life, to be aware of social and moral responsibility for the received training and professional activity. 12. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. 13. Ability to independently prepare and defend a master's thesis based on own research.

Summary of the subject: The execution of the master's thesis is based on the well-known provisions and results of modern scientific research in engineering geodesy, cartography, land management and cadastre, land and real estate valuation, geo-information systems and technologies, photogrammetry and remote sensing, space geodesy and orients to further professional and scientific career
Опис: Choosing of research theme. Getting the tasks. Research planning. Analysis of the current situation on the chosen topics, processing of literature and Internet sources. Performance of experimental work. Conducting economic calculations. Formation of research conclusions. Making explanatory note of Master's work.
