Сultural heritage and sustainable development of society
Summary of the subject: The protection of cultural heritage remains the most problematic area of activity in the field of culture, since its objects are the most vulnerable to external destructive influences and quite often are at the intersection of the opposing interests of the state as the main subject of cultural heritage preservation, and interested public organizations and movements. on the one hand, and subjects of economic activity - on the other. Nevertheless, such a phenomenon as social responsibility has been closely related to the preservation and popularization of cultural heritage for decades. If in the past this was manifested in the patronage and legislation of individual states, then in the XXI century. the implementation of social responsibility has expanded thanks to public institutions, various grant programs, activities of individual institutions or activists. Therefore, in the process of studying the academic discipline, various manifestations of social responsibility will be considered: state, corporate and personal - in historical retrospect and with concrete examples; the importance of social responsibility for ensuring the sustainable development of society will be discussed; the possibilities of museums and public historians in this field will be analyzed. In addition, students were asked to complete an individual research task as a practical embodiment of social responsibility in the preservation of cultural heritage.
