Мета вивчення дисципліни: to form in students a set of knowledge and ideas about the main events in history and cultural heritage of European countries in the period from the Great French Revolution to the present. Develop students' understanding of special terminology, definitions, periodization, work with sources and scientific literature.
Завдання: - Formation of an active civic position based on awareness of historical phenomena and cultural phenomena in the national and European context; - to form an ethical attitude to cultural heritage as the basis of monument protection activities.
Learning outcomes: ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of historical and cultural processes in the national and European context; knowledge of the historical and cultural heritage of Lviv in the context of the general development of European culture; ability to update and present a cultural product.

Summary of the subject: European civilization, without exaggeration, occupies a very important place in the history of mankind. Fundamental values were laid here, which remain the central axis of modern culture and worldview. It was the Europeans who opened the "new world" and expanded the horizons of the global dimension. The discipline "Historical and cultural heritage of European civilization (XVIII - XXI centuries)" will touch on the events of European history from the Great French Revolution to the present day, namely: "spring of nations", unification processes in European countries; individual conflicts, their impact on the internal situation of European states and the development of European integration processes against the background of the transition to a consumer society and mass culture. In addition, the everyday life of Europeans will be considered through the specified time prism. The discipline program is designed for students of the specialty 027 "Museum studies, monument studies", so special attention is paid to the study of the material and spiritual culture of Europeans, preserved monuments of historical and cultural heritage and their tourist potential.
Опис: Europe between the great geographical discoveries and the Great French Revolution. The Great French Revolution 18th century Culture of the Age of Enlightenment. European countries in the first half of the 19th century. Unification of Italy and Germany. European culture of the 19th and early 20th centuries. USA: from the formation of the state to the country of "equal opportunities". Italy, Germany and Spain in the interwar period. Development of culture in interwar Europe. Europe in the vicissitudes of World War II. European integration. Culture of the second half of the 20th - 21st centuries. Tourist potential of the European region.
Assessment methods and criteria: Lectures, practical classes - informative and receptive method, reproductive method, problem presentation method, independent work is a research method. Current control – oral and face-to-face survey, presentations at practical classes; presentation of the project.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Rating assessment on a 100-point scale: current control – 45 points: 40 points - oral answers in classes; 5 points - presentation of a little-known attraction. final control – written exam 55 points. Work in classes (maximum per class - 5 points): Report - a maximum of 3 points. Criteria: - quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; - speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); - the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluation judgments and theoretical conclusions. Reviewing, opposing in class - a maximum of 2 points (ability to oppose and review; ability to argue one's own judgments and conclusions during a scientific discussion). Presentation of the tourist route project - 5 points. Criteria: – ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize material; - general design of the visual series; - a creative approach to presenting information; - logicality and sequence of presentation of the material; - attracting a sufficient number of sources of information.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
