Summary of the subject: The training course "Special historical disciplines" is intended for the training of specialists of the educational and qualification level "Bachelor" in the field of training 6.020103 "Museum work and protection of historical and cultural monuments". In the bachelor's training system, this course occupies an important place, as it forms students' knowledge and skills that allow them to expand their cognitive abilities during the analysis and external criticism of sources and reconstruction of specific aspects of the life of society in the past.
Special historical disciplines are sources of knowledge that study specific types of historical sources and develop the theoretical and methodological foundations of their external and internal criticism. Special historical disciplines arise as a set of applied skills for working with documents.
Today, special historical disciplines serve to solve narrow tasks — criticism of the source, and on the other hand — set independent tasks in various areas of history (for example, genealogy not only traces blood ties, but also allows historians to talk about changes in the social stratification of or other society; paleography not only helps when reading an ancient document, but also gives us valuable information about such a component of culture as writing, which at the same time allows us to talk about the level of cultural development of a particular nation, ethnic group, etc.).
