Мета вивчення дисципліни: Develop students' systematic knowledge of the stages of formation of museology as a scientific discipline and its periodization. To provide future specialists in museum affairs with an idea of scientific work in museums of various profiles, an understanding of the basic principles, stages and methodology of scientific processing of museum funds, museum objects and scientific foundations of exposition and exhibition activities. Acquaintance of students with theoretical and practical developments in museum pedagogy, marketing, sociology and psychology.
Завдання: The ability to analyze and evaluate problems in various aspects of museology, monument studies and cultural tourism and to propose scientifically reasoned solutions, taking into account a holistic, multi-perspective, interdisciplinary, axiological approach to the understanding and interpretation of cultural heritage. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and implementation of professional activities. Ability to perform expositional, research-funding, educational, cultural and educational activities based on professionally profiled knowledge.
Learning outcomes: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the scientific foundations of the organization, modernization of processes in the professional field. Perform accounting, conservation and preservation of museum funds. Ability to treat the work responsibly and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Research in the museum is aimed at creating optimal and effective conditions for the process of selection of museum objects, their study, preservation and exhibition. In the process of this activity there is a comprehensive study of both the museum object and the relationship of the museum object with the original environment of its existence, its place in the museum, as well as the peculiarities of its relationship with the visitor. Research activities in the museum and the field of monument protection take place in two interrelated areas: 1. branch research, which in its content coincides with research in other scientific institutions. In these studies, museum objects are studied in terms of the new knowledge they provide to a particular field of knowledge; 2. museum studies aimed at gaining new knowledge of the theory and methodology of collecting, preserving, processing, exhibiting and other uses of museum objects. The acquired new knowledge leads to scientific evaluation of museum collections, supplementation of existing ones, compilation of special documentation, scientifically organized exposition and printing of catalogs and publications.

Digital technologies in the scientific work of the museum. Museum and pedagogical research. Museum sociology and psychology.
Assessment methods and criteria: rating assessment on a 100-point system: current tests - 40 points (quiz, presentation, oral and written answers), final test - 60 points (exam).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Semantic and ideological unity; attractiveness; the integrity of the artistic image; the ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize material. the quality of the artistic design; well-chosen museum exhibits, their attractiveness; use of modern marketing strategies.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
