Завдання: The study of the academic discipline involves the formation of the following competencies in the student:

СК1. The ability to operate the basic categorical and conceptual apparatus of sociology.
СК2. Ability to master and use basic classical and modern sociological theories.
СК6. Ability to analyze and systematize the obtained results, formulate reasoned conclusions and recommendations..
Learning outcomes: Use the conceptual apparatus of sociology in educational, research and other areas of professional activity.
Understand the history of sociology, its modern concepts and theories, the main problems.
Explain the patterns and features of development and functioning of social phenomena in the context of professional tasks.
Communicate fluently in state and foreign languages orally and in writing on professional matters.
Be able to use information and communication technologies in the process of searching, collecting and analyzing sociological information.
Substantiate their own position, make and argue independent conclusions based on research and analysis of professional literature.
Be able to develop a program of sociological research.
Have the skills to collect social information using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Present the results of their own research to professionals and non-specialists.
Know and adhere to the ethical norms of the sociologist's professional activity.

Summary of the subject: The "History of Sociology" course provides students with the main stages and directions of the development of sociological theory in the context of the history of key social and philosophical ideas of world culture. To show students the specifics of the emergence of sociology as a science and its historical evolution. Highlighting the relationship between theoretical sociology and other socio-humanitarian sciences at various stages of its history. Clarification of the theoretical origins of modern sociological concepts and theories. Acquaintance of students with the main stages and directions of development of sociological thought in Ukraine. To show its originality in comparison with Western European sociology. Highlighting the place of Ukrainian sociology in the context of world sociological thought. Clarifying the significance of sociological ideas for the process of national revival and development of socio-humanitarian knowledge in Ukraine.

Pareto; Sociological theories of E. Durkheim and M. Weber; Symbolic interactionism of J. Mead, C. Cooley and G. Blumer; Structural functionalism: T. Parsons and R. Merton; Sociobiological concepts and theory of social exchange; Integral sociology of P. Sorokin; Phenomenological sociology and ethnomethodology; Theory of social conflict and sociology of neo-Marxism; The main directions of modern theoretical sociology.
Ukrainian sociological thought: features of formation, development and research; Proto-sociological ideas in the culture of Kievan Rus; Proto-sociological knowledge in the works of Ukrainian thinkers of the Cossack era; Features of the development of social ideas in Ukraine in the 18th - early 19th centuries; Sociological ideas of the figures of the Cyril and Methodius Brotherhood; Sociological themes in the works of Ukrainian scientists of the 2nd floor. 19th century; Sociological views of M. Drahomanov and I. Franko; Sociological concept of B. Kistyakivsky; Sociological views of M. Hrushevsky; Sociological theory of M. Shapoval; Political sociology of V. Lypynsky; The situation of Ukrainian sociology in the USSR and its development after the proclamation of Ukraine's independence.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interview, participation in discussions, abstracts (40%)
• final control (control measure, exam): written form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Report: 5 points
– correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge;
– quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength;
- correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus;
- speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation);
- the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluation judgments and theoretical conclusions.

Written answer during classroom independent work: 5 points
– correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge;
– quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength;
- the formation of general educational and subject skills and abilities - the ability to integrate and synthesize knowledge from individual meaningful modules and topics
- disclosure of cause-and-effect relationships between phenomena, processes;
- the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluation judgments and theoretical conclusions.
