Summary of the subject: Studying the course "Methods of gathering sociological information, part 1" involves the student's work in lectures, practical classes, studying the recommended literature, and performing individual practical tasks. When studying theoretical provisions, interactive forms of teaching should dominate. As a result, students should learn the basics of planning and conducting quantitative sociological research using the main methods of collecting sociological information. When teaching the course, its relationships with other educational subjects are taken into account, in particular sociology, introduction to the specialty, special and branch sociologies, methodology of sociological research, probability theory and social statistics.
Studying on the course requires students to write individual practical tasks, which consist in the development of data collection techniques using various methods, the construction of tools, and the practical collection of information by the personal interview method.
Опис: Theoretical and methodological principles of collecting quantitative sociological information. Procedures of conceptualization and operationalization. Measurement in sociology. Method of interrogation: general methodological characteristics. The method of questioning. The method of interview. The method of content analysis of documents. The method of observation. The method of the experiment.
Assessment methods and criteria: • сurrent control (40%): oral examination (25%), individual work (15%)
• final control (control measure, exam): writing (60%).

(the structure of the work meets the requirements; the quality of the sources of information and the content of the work; the level of independence and the depth of meaningfulness of the introduction and conclusions; the level of familiarity with factual material, terminology and concepts; the ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize the material).
Individual control task (research program) - 20 points. (the structure of the work meets the requirements (methodological, methodical sections, conclusions); the quality of the sources of information and the content of the work; the level of independence and the ability to defend the decisions made; the level of familiarity with factual material, terminology and concepts).

Summary of the subject: Studying the course "Methods of gathering sociological information, part 1" involves the student's work in lectures, practical classes, studying the recommended literature, and performing individual practical tasks. Summary of the subject: The course "Methods of collecting sociological information, part 1/ part 2" involves students writing term papers using quantitative and qualitative research methods. Completion and defense of coursework is a mandatory component of the educational process in modern higher education. The main task of the course work is not only to systematize the theoretical knowledge obtained during the study of certain educational courses, but also to teach students the basics of independent scientific research.
Опис: Theoretical aspects of the course work: the main theoretical and methodological areas in modern sociology; the concept of "paradigm" and its use in sociology. Organizational aspects of the course work: scientific guidance, stages of work. Course work as a scientific research: requirements for work, substantiation of the content of scientific research, theoretical-methodical and empirical basis of scientific work. Preparation of work for defense: requirements for design, constituent elements of work, general rules for citations and references to used scientific sources, preparation of students for defense and defense procedure. In the process of performing the tasks of the module, the student must write and submit an educational and scientific work, which is allowed to be defended by the decision of the supervisor, with his review.
Assessment methods and criteria: •writing a term paper and its defense (100%).
