Мета вивчення дисципліни: Сonsider the main directions of analysis, interpretation, understanding of social changes, which involves understanding the historical heritage of modern discussions in this theoretical field.
Завдання: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student should be able to: - differentiate the concepts of "social change", "social development", "progress", "regress", "evolution", "revolution", modernization", "reform", "innovation", etc.; - to analyze the main directions, concepts and approaches of sociological analysis, interpretation of social changes; - understand and interpret the essence of social processes and social movements; - apply the acquired knowledge in the theoretical and practical study of social, political, economic, cultural and other changes in modern society.
Learning outcomes: Use the conceptual apparatus of sociology in educational, research and other areas of professional activity. Understand the history of sociology, its modern concepts and theories, the main problems. Apply the provisions of sociological theories and concepts to the study of social change in Ukraine and the world. Communicate fluently in state and foreign languages orally and in writing on professional matters. Be able to use information and communication technologies in the process of searching, collecting and analyzing sociological information. Substantiate their own position, make and argue independent conclusions based on research and analysis of professional literature. Be able to develop a program of sociological research. Have the skills to collect social information using quantitative and qualitative methods. Present the results of their own research to professionals and non-specialists. Know and adhere to the ethical norms of the sociologist's professional activity. Conceptual scientific and practical knowledge. Critical understanding of theories, principles, methods and concepts in the field of professional activity and / or training. In-depth cognitive and practical skills, mastery and innovation at the level required to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of professional activity or training. Data collection, interpretation and application. Communication on professional issues, including in a foreign language, orally and in writing Forming judgments that take into account social, scientific and ethical aspects. Ability to continue learning with a significant degree of autonomy.

Summary of the subject: Studying this discipline will help students learn the concepts and concepts that characterize social changes, as well as apply the acquired knowledge to explain changes in the modern world and in Ukrainian society. The study of the specified discipline involves the student's work in lectures and practical classes, as well as independent work in working out topics and studying scientific literature.
Опис: Social changes: definitions. Evolutionary theories of social changes. Neoevolutionism. Conflict theory in the interpretation of social change. Theories of modernization. Concepts of neomodernization and neoconvergence. Theories of globalization. Cyclical theories of civilizations. Activity approach to the problem of social change. Social change in the context of historical sociology. Social movements as a factor of social changes.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interviews, participation in discussions and interactive exercises, presentation of the study project (60%) • final test, written form (40%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Report - 4 – quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; - correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; - speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); - the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluation judgments and theoretical conclusions. Supplement -1 - a scientifically based statement that reveals the essence of phenomena, processes, patterns. Performing interactive exercises or case analysis - 4 - the sequence of solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - approaches to solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - the quality of solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - disclosure of cause-and-effect relationships between phenomena and processes during the solution of the situation proposed in the exercise or case. Essay - 20 – the structure of the essay (introduction, at least two points of the plan, a list of used literature and sources, conclusions, the volume of the substantive part - 10 pages); - quality of sources of information and content of work; - the level of independence and the depth of meaningfulness of the introduction, presentation of the material and conclusions; – level of familiarity with actual material, terminology and concepts; - the ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize the material.
