Мета вивчення дисципліни: Students acquire systematized, integral knowledge about politics, political power and the political system.
Завдання: Integral competence: Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, foreign policy, international interactions between states, international organizations and non-governmentsl actors, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions and the application of theories of social sciences and special scientific methods of studying the problems of international relations. General Competences: GC1. Ability to exercise their rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to realize the values of civil society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, human rights and freedoms and the citizen of Ukraine; GC2. Ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society based on understanding the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system and knowledge of nature and society, and in the development of society, technology and technology, use different types and forms of motor activities for active recreation and healthy living. GC4. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC6. Ability to generate new ideas (creativity). GC8. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis. Professional competencies of the specialty: PC1. Ability to identify features and trends, understand the nature, dynamics, principles of organization of international relations, public communications and / or regional studies. PC2. Ability to analyze international processes in various contexts, including political, security, legal, economic, social, cultural and informational. PC3. Ability to assess the state and directions of research in international relations and world politics in political, economic, legal sciences, in interdisciplinary research. PC5. Ability to analyze the impact of the world economy, international law and domestic policy on the structure and dynamics of international relations and foreign policy. PC7. Ability to analyze international integration processes in the world and on the European continent, and Ukraine's place in them. PC8. Awareness of Ukraine's national interests in the international arena. PC11. Ability to analyze the nature and evolution of international organizations, their place in the system of international relations, the main forms and prospects of Ukraine's cooperation with them. PC13. Ability to analyze the activities of international non-state actors and transnational relations.
Learning outcomes: PH01. To know and understand the nature of international relations and regional development, evolution, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics, as well as the nature and sources of state policy in the international arena and the activities of other participants of international relations. PH02. To know and understand the nature and dynamics of international security, understanding of the peculiarities of its provision at the global, regional and national levels, knowledge of the nature and approaches to resolving international and international conflicts. PH03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the correlation of state and non-state actors in world politics. PH04. To know the principles, mechanisms and processes of ensuring the foreign policy of states, the interaction between foreign and domestic policy, the definition and implementation in the international arena of national interests of states, the process of formation and implementation of foreign policy decisions. РН07. Carry out a description and analysis of the international situation, collect from various sources the necessary information about international and foreign policy events and processes. РН09. Investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations. PH11. Carry out an applied analysis of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, international processes and the international situation in accordance with the objectives, prepare information and analytical documents. PH15. Understand and apply current legislation, international regulations and agreements, reference materials, current standards and specifications, etc. to solve complex specialized problems of international relations, public communications and regional studies. PH16. Understand and defend the national interests of Ukraine in international activities. РНВБ2.3 To know modern ethnopolitical processes, their influence on regional and cross-border cooperation, to be able to analyze the basic tendencies of development of regional processes in modern international relations. КОМ 2. Ability in communication to defend the patriotic state position on the place of Ukraine in the system of international relations

Summary of the subject: The academic discipline "Political Science" is an integral part of the cycle of mandatory disciplines of specialty 291 "International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies" of the first level of higher education (bachelor's degree), the purpose of which is to acquire systematic, comprehensive knowledge of the political sphere of society; the formation of students' scientifically based ideas about power relations, the state and the political system, the political process and the role of the individual in politics; creating a target image of the system of government in Ukraine and the formation and functioning of Ukraine as an international subject.

Assessment methods and criteria: Oral and written surveys, discussion of problematic issues, analysis of reports, essays, presentations, essays, written survey, test control.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: • Current control: (40%): recitation, speeches during practical classes. • Final control: (60%): exam (tests and theoretical questions).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems;87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems;49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
