Мета вивчення дисципліни: Оволодіння студентами теоретико-методологічних засад загальної теорії конфліктів, з’ясування сутності, структури, основних причин виникнення, функцій та типології міжнародних конфліктів; оволодіння технологіями управління, методиками попередження, запобігання ескалації та врегулювання міжнародних конфліктів. Формування науково обґрунтованих знань та уявлень про засоби вирішення міжнародних конфліктів, типології міжнародного посередництва та переговорів.
Завдання: Program competencies Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, foreign policy, international interactions between states, international organizations and non-governmentsl actors, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions and the application of theories of social sciences and special scientific methods of studying the problems of international relations. General Competences: GC4. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC5. Ability to work in an international context. GC7. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. GC14. Ability for interpersonal interaction, respect for diversity and multiculturalism Professional competencies of the specialty: PC1. Ability to identify features and trends, understand the nature, dynamics, principles of organization of international relations, public communications and / or regional studies. PC4. Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, foreign policy, public communications, regional research. PC10. Ability to analyze the structure and dynamics of international public communications, to identify their impact on the international system, state and public institutions.
Learning outcomes: Program learning outcomes: LO01. To know and understand the nature of international relations and regional development, evolution, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics, as well as the nature and sources of state policy in the international arena and the activities of other participants in international relations. LO02. To know and understand the nature and dynamics of international security, understand the features of its provision at the global, regional and national levels, know the nature and approaches to resolving international and international conflicts. LO05. To know the nature and mechanisms of international communications LO13. To conduct a professional discussion on the problems of international relations, international communications, regional studies, foreign policy, argue their position, respect opponents and their views. AandV1.Ability to adapt to new conditions and make appropriate decisions; AandV 2. Ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge;

Summary of the subject: Навчальна дисципліна передбачає ознайомлення із сучасними концепціями, теоріями міжнародних конфліктів; сутністю, природою, структурою та динамікою розвитку міжнародних конфліктів; загальними причинами виникнення конфліктів та особливостями їх ескалації; класифікацією та типологізацію конфліктів у міжнародних відносинах; технологіями управління конфліктами; методами запобігання їх ескалації та розв’язання; основними принципами теорії переговорів.
Опис: The subject of conflictology as a science. History of formation and development of knowledge about conflicts. Conflict theories. Conflict as a social phenomenon. Typology of modern conflicts. International conflicts. Ethno-national and interethnic conflicts at the international level. Institutionalization of the conflict. Conflict analysis and examination. Prevention of interstate and intra-state conflicts. Conflict management. Negotiation process and its main characteristics. Negotiation procedure in resolving international conflicts. Institute for Mediation in International Conflict Resolution.
Assessment methods and criteria: Oral (individual and face-to-face) and written (written answers to questions, solving tasks, etc.) surveys according to the plan of practical classes, observation of educational and cognitive activities, evaluation of activity, submitted proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, writing and defending essays, presentations , discussion of problematic tasks, exam (three-level testing).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (40%) - oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic. Final control (60%) - examination - three-level testing.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
