Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies:
Integral competence:
Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, foreign policy, international interactions between states, international organizations and non-governmentsl actors, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions and the application of theories of social sciences and special scientific methods of studying the problems of international relations.
General Competences:
GC4. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity.
GC5. Ability to work in an international context.
GC7. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations.
GC14. Ability for interpersonal interaction, respect for diversity and multiculturalism.
Professional competencies of the specialty:
PC1. Ability to identify features and trends, understand the nature, dynamics, principles of organization of international relations, public communications and/or regional studies.
PC2. Ability to analyze international processes in various contexts, including political, security, legal, economic, social, cultural and informational.
PC4. Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, foreign policy, public communications, regional research.
PC6. Ability to apply the principles of diplomatic and consular service, diplomatic protocol and etiquette, the ability to conduct diplomatic and business correspondence (in Ukrainian and foreign languages).
PC12. Ability to carry out communication and information-analytical activities in the field of international relations (Ukrainian and foreign languages).
Learning outcomes: Learning Outcomes:
LO03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the ratio of governmental and non-governmental actors in world politics.
LO05. To know the nature and mechanisms of international communications.
LO10. To speak fluently in the native and foreign languages at the professional level required for professional discussion, preparation of analytical and research documents.
LO13. To conduct a professional discussion on the problems of international relations, international communications, regional studies, foreign policy, argue their position, respect opponents and their views.
LO15. To understand and apply current legislation, international regulations and agreements, reference materials, current standards and specifications, etc. to solve complex specialized problems of international relations, public communications and regional studies.
LO18. To know the job responsibilities of the diplomatic and consular staff, the rules of diplomatic protocol and etiquette used in professional communications.

COM1. Ability to freely use foreign languages in practice in the specialty, to conduct direct and reverse translation of documents from foreign languages.

Summary of the subject: The course involves the study of general theoretical issues about diplomacy, the organization of diplomatic activity, the establishment of diplomatic relations, diplomatic functions and means of ensuring them, diplomatic privileges and immunities, the activities of special missions, consular institutions, the main documents of a diplomatic mission, official contacts of diplomats and diplomatic conversations, diplomatic negotiations and international conferences, the technique of conducting diplomatic negotiations, international treaties and contractual practice, information and explanatory work of diplomatic missions and work with the mass media of the host country, protocol work of a diplomatic mission, international organizations as a form and manifestation of multilateral diplomacy.
Опис: General theoretical approaches to diplomacy. Organization of work in a diplomatic mission. The establishment of diplomatic relations. Diplomatic functions and their means of fulfillment. Diplomatic privileges and immunities. Activities of special missions. Consular posts. Diplomatic correspondence. Official diplomatic contacts and diplomatic talks. Diplomatic negotiations and international conferences. Techniques of diplomatic negotiations. International treaties and treaty practice. Information activity of diplomatic mission and relations with media in a receiving state. Diplomatic protocol and etiquette. International organizations and multilateral diplomacy.
Assessment methods and criteria: Oral (individual and face-to-face) and written (written answers to questions, solving tasks, etc.) surveys according to the plan of practical classes, observation of educational and cognitive activities, evaluation of activity, submitted proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, writing and defending essays, presentations , discussion of problematic tasks, exam (three-level testing)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: • Current control (40% - oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, preparation of presentations on a given topic).
• Final control (60% - three-level testing).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
