Завдання: Integral competence: Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, foreign policy, international interactions between states, international organizations and non-governmentsl actors, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions and the application of theories of social sciences and special scientific methods of studying the problems of international relations. General competences (GC): GC5. Ability to work in an international context. Professional competencies of the specialty (PC): PC1. Ability to identify features and trends, understand the nature, dynamics, principles of organization of international relations, public communications and / or regional studies. PC9. Ability to apply knowledge of the characteristics of countries and regions, features and patterns of global processes and the place of individual states in them to solve complex specialized problems and problems. PC11. Ability to analyze the nature and evolution of international organizations, their place in the system of international relations, the main forms and prospects of Ukraine's cooperation with them. PC15. Ability to analyze features, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation.
Learning outcomes: Learning outcomes (LO): LO03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the ratio of governmental and non-governmental actors in world politics. LO04. To know the principles, mechanisms and processes of foreign policy, interaction between foreign and domestic policy, definition and implementation in the international arena of national interests, the process of formation and implementation of foreign policy decisions. LO06. To know the nature and peculiarities of interactions of individual countries and regions at the global, regional and local levels. LO09. To investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations. LO16. To understand and defend the national interests of Ukraine in international activities. LO19. To know the features, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation, international cooperation of regions. Learning outcomes of professional orientation (LOP): LOP2.1. To know the main theoretical approaches to understanding regionalism, the main categories, concepts, technologies and methods for studying regionalism in the field of international relations. LOP2.5 To know the basics of state regional policy, the specifics of its implementation and regulatory mechanisms, decision-making technologies in the field of regional and cross-border cooperation.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Central East and South East European Countries’ Foreign Policy; International Relations and World Politics. Co-requisites: Foreign policy of the countries of Western Europe; Foreign Policy of Asian, African, North and Latin American Countries.
Summary of the subject: The study discipline Russian and CIS Foreign Policy is an optional subject of specialty 291 "International relations, public communications and regional studies" at the bachelor's level of education. The thematic content of the course ensures the study of the essence of CIS concepts, terms and categories. Considerable attention is focused on the study of political, social, economic, spatial-territorial, natural, demographic and cultural aspects of the international organization and foreign policy of the countries that are part of the CIS. As a result of studying the discipline, students possess the theoretical foundations of vectors, strategies, directions of the foreign policy of the CIS countries.
Опис: The CIS as an integration association: formation, structure, functioning. Russia in the system of international relations. Peculiarities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova. Geopolitical location, political and legal system, foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus. Peculiarities of the political system of Moldova. Modern political processes in Moldova. Language situation in Moldova. The Transnistrian problem: causes, solutions. The political system of the Caucasian states, modern political processes. Geopolitical situation, foreign policy of the South Caucasus states. National problems and conflicts in the Caucasus. Administrative-territorial structure and political-legal system of the countries of Central Asia. Geopolitical situation and foreign policy of the countries of Central Asia. Foreign policy of the CIS observer states. Security problems in the post-Soviet space.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: (40%) questioning, presentations at the seminars, essay writing. Final control: (60%) exam (three-level testing).
