Завдання: Conducting the qualification exam involves the formation and development of students' competencies:
integral:
1. the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of international relations, social communication and regional studies, foreign policy activities of states, international interactions between states, international organizations and non-state actors, characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions and involves the application of social science theories and special scientific methods of researching problems of international relations;
general:
ZK7. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations;
ZK8. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis;
ZK9. Ability to use information and communication technologies;
ZK15. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team;
professional:
FC8. Awareness of the national interests of Ukraine in the international arena;
FC9. The ability to apply knowledge of the characteristics of the development of countries and regions, features and regularities of global processes and the place of individual states in them to solve complex specialized tasks and problems;
FC13. Ability to analyze the activities of international non-state actors and transnational relations;
FC14. Ability to analyze regional and cross-border cooperation, in particular, EU regional cooperation, as well as the development of international regional and cross-border cooperation of Ukraine;
FC15. Ability to analyze features, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation.
Learning outcomes: LO08. To collect, process and analyze large amounts of information on the state of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, regional systems, international communications.
LO09. To investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations.
LO10. To speak fluently in the native and foreign languages at the professional level required for professional discussion, preparation of analytical and research documents.
LO11. Carry out an applied analysis of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, international processes and the international situation in accordance with the objectives, prepare information and analytical documents.
LO12. To have the skills of professional interpretation and translation from / into foreign languages, in particular, on professional topics of international cooperation,
foreign policy, international communications, regional studies, bilateral and multilateral international projects.
LO13. To conduct a professional discussion on the problems of international relations, international communications, regional studies, foreign policy, argue their position, respect opponents and their views.
LO19. To know the features, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation, international cooperation of regions.
LO20. Understand the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge in accordance with the latest stages of development of the theory of international relations, the formulation of new political concepts and visions of the international system.
AandV3. Ability to act responsibly to the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the goal of complying with the requirements of professional ethics.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Theory of international relations, Diplomatic and consular service, Foreign policy of Ukraine, History of international relations, Country studies.
Сo-requisites: practice on the topic of bachelor's thesis.
Summary of the subject: The qualifying exam is aimed at testing the achievement of learning outcomes defined by the standard and educational program, namely students mastering theoretical conceptual approaches to international relations and foreign policy, diplomatic and consular activities, forming a holistic view of historical stages of international relations, directions and content of foreign policy of Ukraine, basics of regional studies, etc.
Опис: The disciplines submitted for the qualifying exam include:
• Theory of international relations,
• Diplomatic and consular service,
• Foreign policy of Ukraine,
• History of international relations,
• Country studies.
• Geopolitics and geostrategy
• Politology.
Assessment methods and criteria: The qualifying exam is conducted on individual tasks as a comprehensive test of knowledge and skills of the applicant, which they must demonstrate to confirm their competencies.
The qualifying exam is conducted in writing and orally at a meeting of the Examination Commission (EC). The duration of the written component of the examination should not exceed three academic hours.
The results of the qualifying exam are evaluated on a 4-point ("excellent", "good", "satisfactory" and "unsatisfactory") and 100-point scale on the minimum level.
When evaluating the student's answer, the examination commission takes into account:
- content of the student's report;
- correctness, clarity, argumentation of answers to questions of EC members.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: The results of the qualification exam are evaluated on a 4-point scale ("excellent", "good", "satisfactory" and "unsatisfactory") and a 100-point scale based on the minimum level.
Each examiner keeps an assessment protocol and assigns a grade for each component of the examination task questions. During the answer, the examiners cannot point out the student's mistakes or correct them. After the students' answers, the examination board averages the individual grades of each member of the board and gives a general rating for the answers to all three questions. The grade for the exam is a collegial decision of all commission members based on the calculated ratings.
When evaluating the student's answer, the examination board takes into account:
- content of the student's report;
- correctness, clarity, reasoning of the answers to the questions of EC members.
