Learning outcomes: • critically comprehend scientific facts about the physiological bases and evolutionary origins of psychic processes at humans and animals; • to know the neural mechanisms of sensory and motor processes, memory, learning, thinking and emotions at humans and animals; • be able to establish communicate between the functional, structural disorders of the nervous and endocrine systems and psychic processes; • be able to orientate in the modern physiological and neuropsychological studies.
Required prior and related subjects: • General Psychology; • Fundamentals CNS anatomy and physiology of higher nervous activit; • Developmental psychology.
Summary of the subject: Understanding the physiological bases and evolutionary origins of psychic processes at humans and animals. The methods of psychophysiological research. Features of the nervous and hormonal regulation in humans. Neurophysiological mechanisms of sensory and motor processes, memory, learning, thinking and emotions at humans and animals. Patterns of occurrence and flow stress at humans and animals. The differences between the functional states of sleep and cheerfulness at higher mammals. Neurophysiological and cognitive development of human.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral examination, rapid testing, quality of written practical problems; • final control (test): based on current scores on a 100-point scale.
