Learning outcomes: 1. To analyze and structure the individual processes of technological preparation of production in terms of systematization of incoming and outgoing flows information that are used in these processes (cutting tools, production equipment, devices, operations, etc.).
2. Know the basic models, architectures, characteristics and data structures.
3. Design and develop application databases for the tasks of technological preparation of production.
4. Administer and maintain existing enterprises' databases and information retrieval systems of different architecture.
5. To understand the concept basics of product lifecycle management (PLM).
6. Understand the typical architectures of software complexes for automation of design and technological preparation of production.
7. To gain on re-engineering process of design and technological production preparation.
8. To gain on modeling typical schemes of complex automation of design and technological production preparation of engineering enterprise.
Required prior and related subjects: 1. Previous educational disciplines. Informatics and programming bases. Computer-aided designing bases. Metal-cutting instruments. Technological equipment. Technology of engineering. Computer-aided designing of metal-cutting instruments, equipment and technological processes.
2. Concomitant and next educational disciplines. Technologies of metal-cutting and assembly production. Scientific researches in technology of engineering.
Summary of the subject: 1. Introduction. Objectives and content of the course (The purpose and objectives of the course, its place, role and significance. The main stages of information technology development, historical excursion. The content of the discipline).
2. Basic concepts of databases (Basic prerequisites for the emergence of the concept of "Database". Information systems. Data models. Architecture, characteristics and structure of data).
3. Database management systems (DBMS) (The main functions of the database. DBMS file servers. Brief description of popular file server databases. Basic concepts of the "Client - Server" architecture. Characteristic features of modern server DBMS. Brief description of popular server DBMS. Criteria for selecting a database when creating information systems. Modernization of obsolete information systems).
4. Basic concepts of relational databases (Relational data model. Keys, indexes and relationships. Data integrity. Database objects. Data types. Basics of data normalization. Database queries. Data independence. Data security. Distributed databases).
5. Fundamentals of relational database design (Logical database design. Object modeling. Entity-Connection Model (ER model). An example of developing a simple ER-model).
6. Enterprise common information field (Complex automation of business process engineering production preparation as a basis for improving the efficiency of work of engineer-designer. Product data management engineering document systems (PDM). The concept of product lifecycle management (PLM) in an enterprise common information field. Overview major classes of PDM / PLM, which are used in Ukraine).
7. Architecture of Enterprise common information field software (Typical software system architecture for designing production preparation. Typical software system architecture for technological preparation of production).
8. Object modeling as the basis of modern information technology.
9. Modeling typical patterns of comprehensive automation of designing and technological preparation of machine-building production (Typical models specific business process of designing and technological production preparation with integrated information technology. The general scheme of designing and technological production preparation with integrated information technology. General recommendations for optimal selection and using of corporate IT systems).
Assessment methods and criteria: Protection of laboratory works results. Is occurring an orally for computerized working places where processing tasks performed on every job. Examination on course completion. The written component is composed of three-level theoretical tasks. An oral component is made on the results of written components for thorough evaluation of knowledge.
Current control (lab work) – 30 points; examination control – 70 points (written component – 60 points, oral component – 10 points): total – 100 points.
