Learning outcomes: • know the technique of choosing the main parameters of the vehicle taking into account the requirements for operational properties, which are studied in the discipline; method of calculation of research of stability, controllability and fluidity of the movement of the vehicle and its braking properties; influence of design and operational factors on listed operational properties of the car. • be able to define the basic parameters of the vehicle in the process of design; to calculate indicators of stability, controllability, and fluidity of the movement of the vehicle and its braking properties.
Required prior and related subjects: • Fundamentals of vehicle and tractor structure; • Vehicle and tractor theory
Summary of the subject: One-dimensional dynamics of the car. The kinematics of the vehicle. The vehicle dynamics. Vibration of the car. Optimization of the braking process of the vehicle.

Learning outcomes: • know the general principles of design and layout of the car, methods for determining modes of vehicles depending on their type and operating conditions, the calculation methods and main design solutions for components and systems of the vehicle, the phases of new automotive technology. • be able to analyze design solutions for their comparative evaluation and possibilities of application, conduct engineering calculations for components and systems of cars.
Required prior and related subjects: • Fundamentals of vehicle and tractor structure; • Design and calculation of vehicles.
Summary of the subject: The layout of the cars and buses. The estimated modes of the dynamic loads acting on the car. Development of the engine and systems. Development and calculation of the transmission. Development and calculation of the steering and the brake actuator.
