Learning outcomes: • know theoretical elements of provision of special methods of traffic engineering, existing standarts; • know recommendations for traffic flows management in places of road repairs and rail crossings; • be able to organize and manage traffic, including creation and imrovement of automatic systems of traffic management; • be able to carry out projects in development of special methods of traffic engineering on the roads and streets based on most modern scientific and technical achievements.

Summary of the subject: Means to ensure road safety at nighttime. Traffic in winter conditions. Traffic management in places of road repairs. Methods of forming the central part of the city in traffic management. Methods of designing areas of traffic calming. Methods of designing areas of traffic calming in the central part of the cities: internal and external. Traffic management in traffic jams.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports of laboratory works, spoken examination; • final control (60%, control evemt, exam): writing-spoken mode (40%)

Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of teaching the discipline is for students to master the theoretical foundations and practical skills of special methods of traffic organization using methods of traffic analysis, current norms and recommendations for managing vehicle flows, experience in solving specific problems of traffic organization.
Завдання: 1. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources (GC3); 2. Ability to communicate with representatives of other professional groups of different levels (experts from other fields of knowledge/types of economic activity) (GC4); 3. The ability to generate new ideas (creativity) (GC8) 4. Ability to research and manage the functioning of transport systems and technologies; (PC1); 5. Ability to manage freight transportation by types of transport; (PC5); 6. Ability to manage passenger transportation by types of transport; (PC6); 7. Ability to manage traffic flows (PC7); 8. The ability to organize and manage traffic, including the creation and improvement of automated traffic management systems (PCS 1.1); 9. The ability to establish long-term cooperation with transport entities, insurance companies, transport departments and administrations in the development and implementation of special methods of traffic management (PCS 1.4); 10. Ability to effectively use tools and technologies of modern traffic regulation (PCS 2.4).
Learning outcomes: RS1 – Search for the necessary information in scientific and technical literature, databases, other sources, analyze and objectively evaluate information in the field of transport systems and technologies and related interdisciplinary problems; RS3 – Analyze and evaluate the efficiency of supply chains and logistics centers, calculate relevant indicators; RS6 – Develop new and improve existing transport systems and technologies, determine development goals, existing limitations, performance criteria and areas of use; RS14 – Use specialized software for analysis, development and improvement of transport systems and technologies; RS15 – Develop methods of transport research and forecasting and model transport processes and the traffic environment; RS16 – Find optimal solutions among alternative options of transport systems; RS17 – Evaluate existing and develop progressive methods of research on road traffic indicators.

Summary of the subject: During the study of this academic discipline, the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge and skills regarding the development of traffic organization schemes, based on the results of various studies of traffic indicators and forecasting the development of transport systems. Here, the expediency and optimality of using various means and methods of regulating the movement of its participants, in particular, the use of automated traffic control systems, are considered in detail. The entire complex of such information meets the requirements of current norms and standards, as well as progressive modern methods of improving the traffic environment.
