Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation of the necessary competencies in students: general competences: ZK5. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. ZK7. Creativity, ability to system thinking. ZK9. understanding the need for lifelong learning and the transfer of acquired knowledge. professional competences: FK1. The ability to solve practical problems using automated design and calculation systems (CAD). FK3. The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems related to the operation of electrical systems and networks, the electrical part of stations and substations, and high-voltage equipment. FC8. The ability to perform professional duties in compliance with the requirements of the rules of safety, labor protection, industrial sanitation and environmental protection. FC10. Awareness of the need to constantly expand one's own knowledge of new technologies in electric power, electrical engineering and electromechanics. FC11. The ability to quickly take effective measures in extraordinary (emergency) situations in electric power and electromechanical systems.
Learning outcomes: • know about occupation and role of electric apparatus in the industry , transport and low-energy circuit systems, about function of electrical apparatus and their parts, also the trends of electrical apparatus engineering; • know the basic requirements for electric apparatus; protection properties and methods of electric equipment in normal and abnormal condition of electrical apparatus; • be able analyzing construction of electric apparatus and its lisage pattern.

Summary of the subject: The educational discipline examines the purpose, structure, principle of operation and features of the use of electrical and electronic devices, low-voltage complete devices, as well as related equipment. It is not a theory of electrical devices, but a complex of questions related to a conceptual apparatus built on the basis of international terminology for electrical devices, functions of electrical devices and their parts. Market trends and classification of electrical devices, protective properties and security of electrical devices, requirements for electrical devices, normal and abnormal conditions of their operation, including short circuits, designations and markings used in modern electrical practice are described. - equipment construction taking into account the requirements of international standards.
Опис: Features and classification of electrical apparatus. Electrical equipment and safe use of electricity. Requirements for electrical apparatus. Apparating conditions. Marking and labeling. Electromechanical equipment: purpose and application. Electric and electronic switches. Losing switches and starters actuators. Circuit breakers. Shut off protection devices. Power fuses. Protection devices for over-kipp voltage. Sensor-positional switches. Devices and scheme of power factor compensation. The automated capacitor installations.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (40%) • final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: The method of distributing and awarding points to students of higher education is regulated by the Regulations on the Organization and Conduct of Current and Semester Monitoring of Study Results of Students of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The criteria for assigning points and grades reflect the actual number of points (examination grade PC+EC or Credit score) received by the student, which is translated into a state grade according to the established criteria, which show the results of training, acquired skills, etc.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
