Summary of the subject: Transients in violation of transverse symmetry in the EPS. Practical methods for calculating three-phase currents and asymmetrical short circuits (SC). Phase-to-ground short circuit in the mains with insulated neutral. Transients during SC in motor power supply circuits. Basis of calculating modes with longitudinal asymmetry in EPS. The notion of stability of EPS load nodes. Load models for calculating EPS modes resistance. Static and dynamic characteristics of load nodes. Criteria and calculations for static stability of synchronous and asynchronous motors. Fundamentals of motor load dynamic stability analysis. Sustainability criteria for complex load units. Ways and means of improving the safety factor of EPS load nodes.
Assessment methods and criteria: • a written report of laboratory and design works, oral (30%); • final control – exam: writing oral form (70%).
