Learning outcomes: to know:physical phenomena and processes that take place in gaseous, liquid and hard insulants at an appendix to them of high voltage; to know elements of isolating constructions of high-voltage vehicles and devices, them operating descriptions; to know methods receipt of high voltage of different form and measuring of these voltage; to know nature and physical reasons of formation of external and internal overstrains; to know operating of overstrains on an isolation; to know technically the possible methods of limitation of overstrains and methods of protecting from them.

Summary of the subject: Basic concepts and classification of overstrains. The electric fields are in a heterogeneous isolation. A role of isolation is in electric equipment. Influence of descriptions of isolation is on the technik – economic indexes of electric equipment. Descriptions of digit are in air intervals at the action of variable, permanent and impulsive voltage. Digits are on the clean, muddy and water-wet surface of isolating constructions. Physical bases of control of internal isolation. Methods and options for the receipt of high variables, permanent and impulsive voltage and currents. Isolation of transformers. Isolation of electric machines. The lightning defence of lines of electro-transferrableness and substations. General description of internal overstrains and protecting from.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination, reference work (30%) • final control (70% control measure, exam), oral-written odds-ma (70%)
