Learning outcomes: • modern trends in the development and improvement of the principles and means of protection and automation power supply systems; • features performance of relay protection elements of the electrical system; • means and methods for diagnosing the State of protection and automation; • calculation of parameters of protection and automation elektropostacal?nih systems; • design of protection devices and automation; • operation protection devices of automatics.
Required prior and related subjects: • Fundamentals of relay protection and automation of power systems; • Electrotechnical system power consumption • Electrical apparatus; • The electric part of stations and substations.
Summary of the subject: Principles of action of protection from overcurrent and surge in supply systems. Current protection in networks of up to 1000 V. Relay protection power supply lines, power transformers, capacitor batteries, voltage 6-10 kV. Relay protection electro. Definition of relay protection devices setpoints, sensitivity and selectivity of the protection. Automatics systems EPS. Protection and automation of special electrical devices.
Assessment methods and criteria: • a written report of laboratory and design works, oral (40%); • final control – exam: writing oral form (60%).
