Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline is in-depth theoretical and detailed practical training of an engineer in the field of designing and operating automatic devices of electrical systems and telemechanics, which are widely used in power system management.
Завдання: general competences: • the ability to apply knowledge of calculation and selection of elements of electrical network automation devices in practice (ZK5); • have research skills in calculation and analysis of electrical network automation devices (ZK7); • the ability to solve the tasks and make appropriate decisions on the selection and calculation of the parameters of electrical network automation devices (ZK9); • the potential for further education and mastering of modern methods of calculation and analysis of the parameters of electric network automation devices, the main modern directions of designing the development and reconstruction of electric network automation devices (ZK15); professional competences: • knowledge of modern technologies of electrical network automation devices used in the production process and the basics of building control systems (SK6); • the ability to integrate various sensors and control devices into typical electrical network automation systems (SK7); • the ability to apply knowledge about electrical network automation devices and practical skills in the construction and operation of electrical networks (SK10); • the ability to use knowledge and skills when designing and calculating the parameters of electric network automation devices, when choosing typical electric network automation devices, taking into account the aspects of debugging and integration with existing systems and objects (SK14); • the ability to argue the choice of the principle scheme and the element base of automation of electrical networks, to critically evaluate the arguments for and against the obtained result and to defend the decisions made (SK15).
Learning outcomes: 1. The ability to demonstrate knowledge of the basics of professionally oriented specialty disciplines in the field of electric circuits of direct and alternating current, theory of the electromagnetic field, theory of electric machines, automatic devices of electric networks, processes of production, transformation and transportation of energy. 2. The ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the main sections of the discipline of electrical network automation. 3. The ability to demonstrate knowledge of the current state of affairs and the latest technologies in the field of electrical network automation. 4. Apply knowledge and understanding to identify, formulate and solve technical problems using known methods. 5. Search for information in various sources regarding electrical network automation equipment, reference and passport data, new methods of solving problems. 6. Work effectively both individually and as part of a team. 7. Identify, classify and describe the operation of automation of electrical networks and its components. 8. To carry out relevant experimental studies and apply research skills in the application of electrical network automation devices. 9. Compare and evaluate the results of calculations and defend the decisions made with arguments. 10. Apply various methods, including information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. 11. Ability to adapt to new situations and conditions and make decisions. 12. To be aware of the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge in the discipline of automation of electrical networks; 13. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics, being aware of responsibility.

Summary of the subject: General information about electrical network automation devices, their nodes, principles of operation and main characteristics, ways of solving debugging and operation problems, and features of their use are presented.
Опис: Classification of automatic equipment of electric networks. Automatically enable synchronous machines and parts of energy systems. Automatic re-enabled. Automatically turn on backup power equipment. Automatic frequency discharge power systems. The automated control systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: Points and their corresponding evaluations of the actual level of achievement of program learning outcomes are formed based on the results of current and semester controls by taking into account the assessment of the completeness and quality of the performance of mandatory individual works, the results of testing conducted with the help of an electronic educational and methodological complex placed in a virtual learning environment Lviv Polytechnic National University, and an oral survey.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
