Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competencies in students:
general competences:
- the ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis of assessment of the technical condition of power lines and power electrical equipment of substations of electrical grids based on the results of their maintenance operations;
- the ability to apply knowledge in practical situations during the organization and carrying out a technical operation of power lines and substations in the electrical grids;
- the ability to search, process and analyze an information from various sources when determining the technical condition of power lines and power electrical equipment of substations in the electrical grids;
- the ability to identify, pose and solve problems and tasks related to the organization of technical operation of power lines and substations of electrical grids, determination of the technical condition of power lines and power electrical equipment of electrical networks, have research skills regarding the detection of damage and malfunctions of power electrical equipment of electrical grids and determination of the reasons that led to this;
- the ability to work both individually and in a team during the maintenance of power lines and electrical equipment of substations in electrical grids;
- the ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements in one's professional activity, to show creativity, the ability to system thinking when solving tasks on assessing the technical condition of power lines and electrical equipment of substations of electrical grids, to be responsible for the quality of the work performed during maintenance of electrical equipment and preparation of technical documentation.

- the ability to solve practical problems using automated design and calculation systems (CAD);
- the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems during maintenance of electrical equipment of substations and power lines of electrical systems and grids, assessment of its technical condition and operating modes, service life forecasting;
- the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems related to the problems of production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy;
- the ability to perform professional duties in compliance with the requirements of the rules of safety, labor protection, industrial sanitation and environmental protection during the maintenance of power lines and electrical equipment of substations in the electrical grids;
- the awareness of the need to constantly expand one's own knowledge of new technologies in the electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics, knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose, rules of operation of electrical equipment in the electrical grids, to constantly improve knowledge of current standards, regulatory documents, instructions and reference materials in the field of technical operation;
- the ability to promptly take effective measures in emergency situations in electric power and electromechanical systems;
- the ability to argue the choice of methods for solving specialized technical maintenance problems, to critically evaluate the results of maintenance of power lines and electrical equipment of substations in the electrical grids, and the ability to defend the decisions made regarding the technical condition of the specified objects of electrical grids.

• to know measures and ways of maintenance of efficiency of the lines and power electrical equipment of substations of power grids.
• to know the basic systems of diagnosing of the lines and power electrical equipment of substations of power grids.
• to be able to organize the maintenance of the line and equipment of substations of power grids.
• to be able to organize and execute a control of the state of high-voltage electrical equipment of power grids.
• to be able to solve technical forecasting tasks – a predicting the life of power transformers.
• to be able to determine the cost of repairs and maintenance of transmission lines and power equipment of substations of power grids.

Summary of the subject: The general rules of the technical condition of power lines and power electrical equipment of substations, their characteristic damage and malfunctions, measures and means of their detection are given. The main modern systems for the diagnosing of power lines and equipment of substations, the methodology of organizing the technical operation of substations and power lines in the electrical grids using modern information resources and regulatory documents are considered.
Опис: General rules of the technical operation of substations and power lines in the electrical grids. Control of the isolation status of electrical equipment. Operation of the oil power transformers. Operation of the power transformers with a liquid dielectric and the power transformers with dry insulation. Operation of switches and disconnectors. Operation of high-voltage substation equipment (high-voltage inputs, measuring transformers, busbars). Operation of overhead power transmission lines. Operation of cable transmission lines.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current and examination control. Knowledge assessment methods: performance and defense of laboratory works, calculation and graphic (control) works. Exam – written and oral components.

• final control – exam: written and oral form (70 %)
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70–50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49–26 points – ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25–00 points – ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
