Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying an academic discipline is to form the necessary skills in students competencies, their acquisition of theoretical knowledge, practical abilities and skills within this disciplines sufficient in combination with others for successful professional performance responsibilities in this specialty and preparation for further study in the chosen one specialization
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of education seekers competencies: general competences: ? ability to analyze and synthesize (KZ4); ? ability to apply knowledge in practice (KZ5); ? the ability to search and analyze information from various sources (KZ9); ? creativity, ability to system thinking (KZ14); ? potential for further training (KZ15); professional competences: 5 ? basic knowledge of the main legal acts and reference materials in force standards and technical conditions, instructions and other regulatory documents in the industry electrical engineering (KS2); ? basic knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules operation of electric power, electrotechnical and electromechanical equipment and equipment (KS3); ? ability to apply and integrate knowledge and understanding of other engineering disciplines (KS7); ? ability to use and implement new technologies, participate in modernization and reconstruction of equipment, devices, systems and complexes, in particular with the aim of improving them energy efficiency (KS8); ? ability to use knowledge and skills for calculation, research, choice, implementation, repair, and design of electric power, electrical engineering and electromechanical systems and their components (KS11); ? the ability to argue the choice of methods for solving specialized problems is critical evaluate the obtained results and defend the adopted decisions (CO15).
Learning outcomes: • know the basics of energy saving, production processes, obtained from alternative sources of energy, circuit of alternative energy; • to be able to think systematically and apply creativity to form a brand new energy-saving technologies; • have an idea about the latest innovations in alternative energy and in the field energy saving from different sources.
Required prior and related subjects: • Physics; • Chemistry; • Theoretical mechanics; • Theoretical bases of electrical engineering; • Power supply systems.
Summary of the subject: Abstract of the academic discipline. Energy saving measures and energy use technologies are considered. The most important issues of energy accumulation are outlined. The general environmental aspects of the operation of power plants for the production of electricity and heat using organic fuels are presented. The peculiarities of the impact of technological processes of production, distribution and use of electric energy on the environment and human life are considered.
Опис: Energy-saving measures and technologies. Energy storage. General description of non-traditional energy sources. The energy of the wind. The energy of the Sun. The energy of the water. The energy of the Earth entrails. Biomass energy. The thermal energy of the environment. Energy fuel cells.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, practical classes, oral questioning (27%), cash-graphic work (13%); • final control (control measure – exam): written and oral form (60%).

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
