Learning outcomes: • knowledge of modern technologies for efficient energy consumption in lighting, electrotechnological, electromechanical, and electrotechnological utilities as well as in electricity supply systems; • understanding of research methodology electrotechnological industrial plants and their technological modes, evaluation of energy saving potential; • evaluation and development of energy-saving measures and their feasibility; • using of computer technology and information technology to calculate, analysis and research of efficient energy consumption technologies.

Summary of the subject: General principles of efficient energy consumption. Energy conversion circuit. The development of energy-saving measures and their feasibility. Efficiency of the main elements of the power supply system. Electric lighting charters and energy efficiency. Energy efficient lighting, their energy performance and impact on the quality of electricity. Improving energy efficiency at the design and operation stages. Energy characteristics of electrical machines. Saving electricity in ventilation installations. Analysis and improvement of flow in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Reducing the load on the pumps (compressors). Replacement of compressed air other energy carriers. Efficient using of electricity in the electro-technological installations. Industrial electrotechnological installations and resistance furnaces. Technological modes and their optimization. Induction and dielectric equipment. Smart-technologies in energy consumption.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Laboratory classes reports, oral questioning, control work (55%), • Final control (control measure – test): written and oral form (45%).
