Learning outcomes: • knowledge of the current state of affairs and the latest technologies in the field of traditional and renewable energy, • understanding the impact of new technical solutions for alternative energy in the social, economic, social and environmental context, • apply knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules of operation of equipment and facilities to solve technical problems of modern energy, • search for information in various sources to solve the problems of sustainable development energy.
Required prior and related subjects: • Physics, Fundamentals of heat engineering, Fundamentals of energy systems for sustainable development, Fundamentals of energy policy. • Automation of typical technological processes, Mathematical modeling of electrical systems and their elements, Fundamentals of systems analysis and decision making, Energy security.
Summary of the subject: Energy potential of Ukraine. Thermal energy. Nuclear energy. Hydropower. Solar energy. Wind energy. Other types of renewable energy: geothermal, wave, tidal, bioenergy. Energy storage systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: The current control in laboratory classes, which is carried out in the form of a frontal oral examination before classes, is designed to diagnose the assimilation of lecture material and the readiness of students for specific calculations and experimental research. In addition, each student must independently perform and defend individual calculation and graphic work. The final control of knowledge is carried out in the form of an exam with written and oral components. Laboratory classes and calculation work - 35 points. Exam - 65 points.
