Learning outcomes: Learning outcomes: The purpose of the discipline is to form students' ability to solve complex problems and problems during professional activities in the field of power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics or in the learning process, which involves research and / or innovation and is characterized by uncertainty of conditions and requirements, including general idea of the essence of energy security as a state of protection from negative influences and important living conditions of the individual, social and political systems, such as society, state, international community. As a result of studying the discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: • ability to demonstrate knowledge of the current state of affairs, development trends, the most important developments and the latest technologies in the field of power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics; • ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the chosen specialization; • ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of technical solutions in the social, economic, social and environmental contexts. • be able to choose methods and model phenomena and processes in dynamic systems, as well as analyze the results; • be able to apply information and communication technologies and programming skills to solve typical engineering problems; • be able to search, analyze and critically evaluate information from various sources; • be able to combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop a strategy for solving the problems of specialization, taking into account universal values, social, state and industrial interests; • be able to apply a systematic approach, integrating knowledge from other disciplines and taking into account non-technical aspects, when solving engineering problems of the chosen specialization and conducting research; • be able to justify the choice of methods for solving a specialized problem, critically evaluate the results and defend the decisions made.

Summary of the subject: Module content: Conceptual approaches to EU energy security; Legal regulation of energy security in the EU; EU energy security strategy; Challenges and prospects for ensuring EU energy security; EU institutions in the field of energy security policy; EU energy security tools; European practices on the division of powers between public authorities in the field of energy security; Ukraine and the EU: cooperation in the energy sector
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): oral interviews, speeches at seminars, writing essays. Final control (60%, exam (two-level testing and descriptive questions).
