Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying this discipline is to expand the knowledge and improve the skills of students necessary to ensure the reliable and economical operation of NPP equipment, as well as preparation for calculation and design and design activities in the field of developing the structure and equipment for NPP thermal power systems using modern technologies. The questions are considered in the scope that is necessary for solving future pedagogical and production needs, as well as research tasks in the nuclear power industry. As a result of studying the discipline, students must master knowledge of production and technological activities in the field of operation of modern highly efficient nuclear power plant equipment.
Завдання: As a result of the study of the academic discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the ability to solve specialized tasks and practical problems during professional activities in the field of nuclear energy or in the process of study. The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: professional competences of a professional direction: - the ability to analyze technological processes as control objects, the ability to choose control and management parameters based on technical characteristics, design features, operating modes of NPP technological equipment; - the ability to independently design systems and their elements, taking into account all aspects of the given task.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: PR1 (Ability to solve complex engineering tasks and problems of atomic energy, which requires updating and integration of knowledge) Lectures and practical classes - information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, independent work - reproductive method, research method Current control - performance and defense of practical works, oral examination. Exam - written survey, test control PR13 (The ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the operation of nuclear power complex equipment in accordance with environmental legislation and legal norms in the field of human health protection and ensuring the safety of engineering activities) Lectures and practical classes - information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, method problematic statement. Independent work: reproductive method Current control – performance and defense of practical works, oral and frontal examination

Summary of the subject: The basic operating conditions of power systems, the characteristics of the stations forming the systems, the organization of power system management, the requirements for the maneuverability of the stations included in the systems, and the maneuverability characteristics of the power units operating at the NPP are considered. The principles of handling radioactive waste that are inevitably generated during the operation of nuclear power plants, technical solutions, means and systems that ensure the reduction of their release into the environment are considered.

Requirements for the participation of NPP units in primary frequency regulation. Requirements for nuclear power plants in emergency and non-stationary modes of operation of the power system. Topic 4. Maneuverable characteristics of NPP units with VVER reactors. Power ranges. Variable block modes. Conformity of maneuvering characteristics of VVER units to the requirements of the power system. Topic 5. Maneuverable characteristics of NPP units with RBMK reactors. Power ranges. Transition modes of the block.
