Learning outcomes: • knowledge of the characteristics and physical properties of fuel (liquid, solid and gaseous); • knowledge of the functions, diagrams and structures of the fuel supply and ash removal systems; • knowledge of the methods for ash utilizing and using; • understanding the purpose and specifics of the components of the fuel supply and ash removal systems; • ability to design fuel supply and ash removal systems, to choose the equipment for these systems; • the ability to choose and apply ways of using ash in the factory; • ability to determine the efficiency of fuel supply systems and to apply methods of saving electricity and fuel during the operation Thermal Power Plants.

Main characteristics and physical properties of fuel. Fuel supply at Thermal Power Plants. Receiving and transporting the fuel. Fuel grinding. Fuel supply schemes. Fuel storage. Oil fuel industry. The main and auxiliary equipment for ash removal.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral questioning, written essay, presentation (40%) • control work – written and oral form (60%)
