Further Mathematics, Part 2
Major: Environmental information systems
Code of subject: 6.183.03.O.010
Lecturer: Mykola Stashchuk
Semester: 2 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Завдання: Studying an academic discipline involves formation competencies: • general competencies: 1) the ability to learn; 2) ability to think analytically; 3) ability to apply knowledge in practical situations; 4) ability to make informed decisions; • professional competences: 1) basic knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and methods necessary for understanding the principles of functioning of environmentally safe technologies; 2) the ability to argue the choice of methods for solving specialized problems, critically evaluate the obtained results and justify the decisions made; 3) the ability to apply professional knowledge and practical skills to solve typical problems of the specialty and justify the choice of methods for solving them, critically evaluate the obtained results and defend the decisions made.
Learning outcomes: As a result of the study of the discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: 1. Investigate the numerical series for convergence. 2. To find partial derivatives of functions of many variables and to investigate the functions of many variables on the extremum. 3. Calculate double and triple integrals and use polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates. 4. To calculate the curvilinear integrals of the first and second kind.
Required prior and related subjects: - Mathematical analysis, part 1; - Physics; - Differential equations; - Programming hardware and software.
Summary of the subject: The academic discipline "Higher Mathematics, part 2" is a component of the educational and professional program training of specialists at the first level of higher education "bachelor" in the specialty " Environmental information systems". This discipline is mandatory, the task of which is to master the mathematical language and fundamental concepts of certain sections of mathematics.
Опис: The academic discipline "Mathematical Analysis, Part 2" consists of section "Differential and integral calculus of functions of many variables": (a) Differential number of functions of many variables, (b) Double integrals, (c) Triple integrals, (d) Linear integrals, (e) Theory of field.
Assessment methods and criteria: Student knowledge testing is carried out by means of oral questioning in practical classes, control and independent work in the virtual of learning environment, the terminologicals of dictations, individual calculation and graphic works.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control - 30 points; Examination Control - 70 points; Total for discipline - 100 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
