Summary of the subject: Sociology of conflict as a separate branch of scientific knowledge. Conflict as a social phenomenon. Functions and consequences of social conflicts. Methodology of social conflict research. Typology of social conflicts. Anatomy of social conflict. Structure, mechanism, dynamics of social conflict. Behavior in conflict. Conflict prevention and forecasting. Conflict management. Resolving social conflicts: alternative methods (negotiation, facilitation, mediation).
Assessment methods and criteria: work in practical classes (oral interviews, reports, case studies, interactive exercises, discussions, intelligence maps, abstracting scientific literature), individual tests; final control (control measure, credit - tests).
