Learning outcomes: Know modern theories, approaches, principles of environmental policy, fundamental provisions on biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, biotechnology and professional and applied engineering and technological disciplines for modeling and solving specific natural protection problems in the industrial sphere. Justify natural protective technologies based on the understanding of the mechanisms of human influence on the environment and processes occurring in it. Be able to develop projects on environmental activities and manage complex actions on their implementation. Be able to demonstrate the skills of choice, planning, designing and calculating parameters of certain types of equipment, technology and environmental protection technologies using knowledge of physical and chemical properties of pollutants, parameters of technological processes and normative environmental indicators. Choose engineering methods of environmental protection, search for the latest technical and technological and organizational solutions aimed at introducing prospective environmental development and modern equipment, analyze the directions of improvement of existing environmental and natural-release technologies for environmental safety.

Summary of the subject: The course is aimed at forming basic knowledge on human interaction problems and the environment needed to make decisions in further professional activity in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The concept of "sustainable development" has been associated with preservation and protection of the environment for a long time. The UN World Conference in Rio de Janeiro became an impetus for this. Sustainable development is an extremely complicated and multifaceted category that covers a complex of problems of ensuring effective functioning within biosphere-anthropogenic unity. The positive direction of development is possible only with the formation of the necessary thinking, built on the consciousness of the uniform laws of development of systems, from which the universe is made. The subject of the study of discipline is not an object or phenomenon of society or nature and not even their condition, but the process of changes under the name "development". Science found out that socio-economic systems can periodically experience the state of qualitative jumps when the system radically rebuilds its structure and progress of the processes of mass change. For the definition of similar phenomena in various areas of knowledge, many related terms are used: revolution, crisis, bifurcation, disaster, restructuring, transformation. For the macroeconomic system, this means a change in the nature of the basic productive forces and production relations, for the enterprise - the change in the nomenclature of products produced, for the physical system - a qualitative transformation of the course of physical and chemical processes.
Assessment methods and criteria: - The current control (40%) are workshops, oral interviews and test; - The final control (60%) is an exam.
