Learning outcomes: 1. Lessons knowledge and practical skills necessary for conceptual design of cable television networks; 2. Lessons knowledge and practical skills necessary for conceptual design of satellite television networks; 3. Lessons knowledge of schematics and design features of cable television nodes and devices, their parameters and characteristics; 4. Lessons knowledge of schematics and design features of satellite television nodes and devices, their parameters and characteristics; 5. Lessons modern methods of measuring the parameters of cable television nodes and devices, skills of experimental studies; 6. Lessons modern methods of measuring the parameters of satellite television nodes and devices, skills of experimental studies.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisite modules: theory of signals, methods of signal generation and formation, methods of radio and television signals reception and processing, fundamentals of radio and television systems theory, fundamentals of radio and television, fundamentals of digital television. Co-requisite modules: system integrators designing of TC systems and networks, digital systems and means of information networks establishment, satellite infocommunication technologies, digital television and television centers, television systems and information display devices, design of telecommunication systems and networks.
Summary of the subject: Development of CTV and components, types of CTV, types of STB, the laws of Ukraine on TV broadcasting and CTV, national standards of Ukraine in the field of TV and CTV, the feasibility study for designing and building of CTV network, preliminary calculation of the network project cost, network calculation, selection and calculation equipment for building CTV and STB networks, the issue of safety engineering in the design and operation of the network.
Assessment methods and criteria: - current control (30%): calculation-graphics work, oral defence of laboratory works; - final control (70%): exam, written-oral form

The acquired modern methods of units and devices of satellite television parameters measuring, skills of their experimental research.

Co-requisite modules: cable and satellite TV, digital systems and means of information networks establishment, satellite infocommunication technologies, digital television and television centers, systems and devices for information displaying and recording, design of telecommunication systems and networks.
Summary of the subject: Feasibility study on the design and construction of a cable and satellite TV network, preliminary calculation of the cost of the project, calculation of the network, calculation of the cost of the project, features of selection and calculation of equipment for the construction of cable and satellite TV networks: receiving antennas and cables, main stations, trunk amplifiers, home amplifiers, power amplifiers, passive network elements, etc.
Assessment methods and criteria: - current control (40%): checking text and graphic part of project; - final control (60%): differentiated test, written-oral form
