Lessons knowledge about the features of construction principles of television centers equipment; 3. The ability to calculate parameters of functional units of digital television devices; 4. The ability to assess the quality of digital television devices; 5. The ability to assess the quality of television centers equipment; 6. Lessons modern methods of measuring the parameters of digital television devices, skills of experimental research; 7. Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisite modules: Fundamentals of Television, Digital Devices and Microproccesors, Methods of Signal Generation and Formation, Methods of Signal of Radio and Television Reception and Processing, Radioautomatics. Co-requisite modules: Radio Systems Design, Cable and Satellite Television, Systems and Devices for Information Display and Recording, Microprocessors in Radio and Television Devices.
Summary of the subject: Classification of television centers, a hardware-studio complexes of TV centers, not studio means of TV broadcast, synchronization systems in TV centers, transmitting cameras, methods and devices for television measurements, television test images, measuring the parameters of television signals, measuring the characteristics of television rasters, characteristics of photoelectric TV converters measurement, characteristics of electric-light television converters measurement, measurement and control in automated systems of TV broadcast, some questions in digital TV measurement, methods of coding, TV signal digital coding, coding standard with information compression mpeg-2, DTV standard DVB, features a digital audio transmission, digital television receivers.
Assessment methods and criteria: - current control (30%): calculation-graphics work, oral defence of laboratory work; - final control (70%): exam, written-oral form
