The course "Foreign language (for professional purposes), part 1" takes into account modern trends in language learning and teaching and is based on the following principles: - internationalism and plurilingualism - democracy and equal rights - novelty - transparency and flexibility - variability - integration The course aims to form general academic and professional communicative competence, which is considered linguistic behaviour specific to the academic and professional environment. Linguistic behaviour requires the acquisition of linguistic competence (speaking skills and language knowledge), sociolinguistic and pragmatic competencies, which are necessary for performing tasks related to study and work. The development of communicative competence occurs according to the students' ability to learn, their subject knowledge and previous experience. It is carried out within the familiar situational context of the study and specialization.
