Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the study of the academic discipline and the results of the study are the study of the physics of work, distinctive features, parameters and characteristics of means of presentation and processing of optical information; development of students' ability to independently perform design and development work on designing and improving means for presenting and processing optical information; acquired ideas about the general principles of building means of presenting and processing information, engineering-psychological and ergonomic aspects of information perception and development prospects; formation of confidence in students about the need to create high-quality and effective means of presenting and processing information for use in control and measuring devices, computing, household, demonstration and other devices of ground and on-board equipment.
Завдання: General competences: ZK5. Skills in using information and communication technologies. Professional competences: FC4. Ability to consider social, environmental, ethical, economic and commercial considerations affecting the efficiency and results of electronics engineering activities. FC9. The ability to determine and evaluate the characteristics and parameters of electronic equipment materials, analog and digital electronic devices for the design of microprocessor and electronic systems, devices of functional, quantum and laser electronics. FC11. The ability to monitor and diagnose the condition of equipment, use modern electronic components and technical means, perform prevention, repair and maintenance of electronic devices and systems, mount, debug and repair analog, digital and optical modules, design and manufacture printed circuit boards, develop software for microcontrollers .
Learning outcomes: PH1 ZN.6. Apply experimental skills (knowledge of experimental methods and the procedure for conducting experiments) to test hypotheses and research electronic phenomena, be able to use standard equipment, plan, draw up diagrams; analyze, model and critically evaluate the obtained results. PH2. ZN.17. Use of communicative competence for effective interaction in various spheres of communication; selection and systematization of information materials for the purpose of communication in the professional sphere. Responsible attitude to professional duties and performed work, independence in making and implementing decisions in the process of overcoming educational difficulties, relying on one's own experience in creatively solving the problems. PH7. AiB3. Independence in data processing, interpretation and generalization, responsibility for promptness, accuracy and reliability of information submission.

Summary of the subject: The program of the study discipline "Methods and means of presentation and processing of information" is designed for students of the Institute of Telecommunications, Radio Electronics and Electronic Engineering who are studying Electronics. The educational discipline is devoted to the study of the physical foundations of the operation of devices and means of displaying information, as well as the main types and characteristics of modern devices and systems.
Опис: Information process as a set of consecutive operations for information exchange carried out in the communications system. Basic methods and principles of information transmission using signals. Mathematical foundations of analysis and synthesis of coherent optical systems of information transformation. Basic principles of formation and perception of information models. The concept of information coding. Methods of registration, representation and storage of color information. Coding of a graphic image. Audio signal processing. Coding of video signals. Display devices and areas of their application. Fiber optic information transmission systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: completed and protected laboratory work, solving problems in the classroom, completing homework. Final control: exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Distribution of points on a 100-point scale. Current control: laboratory work - 30 points. taking tests at the virtual learning environment - 10 points. Examination control: written and oral form (50 points/10 points).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
