Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline is to acquire skills in designing printed circuit boards for avionics equipment and systems (AES) using modern computer-aided design packages and to be able to justify the design decisions made with the necessary calculations.
Завдання: As a result of studying the discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: - know the basic principles of construction and design of electronic devices, be able to apply the hierarchical principle in the design process; - know the design of printed circuit boards used in electronic devices and avionics systems; - be able to develop the design of electronic modules of devices using CAD; - be able to justify the design decisions made by the necessary calculations.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the study, learners are expected to be able to make basic design calculations: • know fundamentals of avionics equipment, development, be able to apply the system approach to the devices design and to implement while designing the principle of hierarchy; • know the construction of printed circuit boards used in Avionics; • be able to carry out the computer-aided design (CAD) of radio-electronic devices;

Summary of the subject: The concept of Avionics equipment construction. The circuit boards on dielectric substrates: characteristics, classification. Flexible backplanes: overall performance, design, peculiarities and application. Design calculations in printed circuit boards (PCB) development. Avionics equipment:classification, features, application and development. Fundamentals of unified engineering documentation system (UEDS). Radio-electronic units with surface-mounted devices (SMD). Typical design of contemporary onboard equipment. Thermal regime support. protection from electromagnetic external fields and environmental effects.
Опис: Topic 1: Basic concepts and classification of avionics systems. The main tasks performed by avionics systems. Topic 2. Operating conditions of avionics devices. The concept of international standard atmosphere and its main parameters. Topic 3. General concepts of the design of electronic equipment The concept of the design of electronic equipment. Topic 4. Printed circuit boards - the basis of avionics equipment and systems. Single-sided, double-sided, multilayer. Topic 6: Special designs of the PCB. 3D MID technologies for the production of bulk printed circuit boards. Topic 7. ESCD, basic provisions. General terms. A complete set of design documents. Topic 8: Application of surface mounted elements in the design of electronic components of avionics equipment and systems. Topic 9. Protection of radio electronic devices from electromagnetic field. Topic 10. Protection of avionics modules from atmospheric influences: temperature and moisture.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: laboratory reports, graphic calculation papers, oral interviewing, written tests - 45 points • Final control: control procedure - written and verbal examination 55 points;

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - ("excellent") is assigned for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literature sources, the ability to analyse the phenomena studied in their interconnection and development, clearly, concisely, logically, consistently answer the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 87-71 marks - ("good") is given for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 70 - 50 points - ("satisfactory") is assigned for poor knowledge of the educational material of the component, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for poor application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems;
